this was a great way to celebrate my birthday.
I couldn't agree more. Best present anyone's ever given me. I need to remember to send myself a thank you card.

The two ladies next to me were celebrating their birthdays, too. (Hi, Marla & Lindsay!)

Decent show. I was expecting way more but Let Me Sleep made it worth it. Without that it would have been an average show.

This guy... Some folks are never happy. I bet this person was the dbag who bought 20 stickers and 10 posters. Tonight was amazing. No words. But I know these above were not the right ones. More to come after I sleep....

It was my first PJ show ever and I thought it was FUCKING AWESOME! it was clear the guys were really just having a good time. I was fortunate enough to get floor seats and sometimes, it really just felt like a small, venue full of friends. wow. i'm hooked!

Hey, does anyone know if Eddie still lives in that house in which he was filmed for PJ20? rumor has it the house sold but I can't find any more details.
  • How about SIXTY stickers (person 2 ppl in front of me). And the merch gal confirmed. REALLY?! Thanks for the 30 minute wait in line only to be disappointed, fucko. Fun show otherwise. If Of the Earth was really cut from the setlist, I'm very Sad. :(

Great mini-tour for me. Great Northwest is home. 8-)

    ~peace~

RANT: I didn't have the best seats so went walking around for a couple of songs. I found ENTIRE ROWS empty. WTF? so many people couldn't get tickets to this show. if you get tickets, have the courtesy to show up on time. and stay for the ENTIRE FUCKING SHOW. If you aren't THAT into it to get there on time and stay till the end, don't buy the fucking tickets: Leave them for the people who want them!

I'm so glad PJ saves the best tickets for the people who truly care. nobody left the pit early!

Really wouldn't say he is a douche, I thought the show was good myself but the last two shows (vancouver and calgary) were better in my books. Really awesome to see them play in Seattle though without a doubt!
Enjoy difference. Without it we're all boring!

Shows have also tickets reserved for guests, press, venue people, promotor staff etc. I've had a seat at a sold out Key Arena PJ show but was busy taking photos in front of the front row ;)

So, did they mention Nelson Mandela at all? I know it's a rock concert, and whereas Lou Reed is a rock icon, Mandela wasn't about music... but if I'd been there in person Mandela would have been heavy on my mind even with all the rockin' out. Did they mention him at all?

yeah aside from Let Me Sleep in the set list just looked average. Although I'm sure it was awesome to be there and all. I guess I was expecting something like how they ended the 2010 tour at MSG. :?

Also a little jealous, seems like half the peopel i knew were there

They did toward the end. Ed was saying something about different people being in the room together and what that can accomplish etc etc. and mentioned him.

Very well said indeed, if not I am very disappointed, if they see themselves as global citizens in the rock and roll realm it probably should have been the theme of the night.....long road, man of the other, light years, ritfw..........

Good, glad they did. It would have seemed like a huge omission to not even acknowledge him.

Yes, I'm not complaining, this is just a personal opinion that it was important to me and I'm pretty surprised it wasn't an underlying theme of the show. Those were the songs I was imagining - at least ONE of them! But then again, I know they walk a careful balance between rocking and conscience with their shows, and they don't like to be predictable...

    nobody left the pit early!
Not true. From my vantage point, I could see that there was quite a bit of open space at the back of the pit during the second encore.

But I'm sure those folks had their reasons for leaving (babysitter issues?). Hell, we had to leave the pit early in Pittsburgh because my wife was a bit under the weather and wanted to sit down. So we moved to the 3rd row behind the pit.

But I get what you're saying. There were plenty of people in my section that were clearly not that into the band.
  • Come on people - the only reason you think the show was "average" is because you put such high expectations on it.

That's the most interesting thing about this tour to me. I've been at some of the legendary shows in big cities (NYC, Philly, Boston), but even though I'm sure the people at the big city shows on this tour had a magical time, and the band definitely brought it at every show, it was the little towns or the "not sexy" towns that had the true magic this tour. I actually think that is super cool!

So yes, the expectations for Seattle were through the roof, probably all around (band and audience), and I'm sure it was a great show, but sometimes the expectations can kinda bring it down before it really takes flight.
  • Last night was number 20 for me. It was by far the best of them all. I would put yesterday in the top ten days of my life. I was sitting in the nosebleeds and my buddy got me to the floor. Whoa! They played some hits and some rare stuff, Pilate! Right now I can't sleep bc of how amazing last night was. One of my coworkers said 20 shows that is a waste of money, hahaha boy did the boys prove that idea wrong. Thank you thank you thank you
