Yes, please. Feels guilty when some shorter people get behind you.

I'm not going to pretend to have read through all ten thousand pages in this thread. I've read the OP and a few scattered responses.

I've never been in GA here or Europe and the only experience I have with a list is the one for the ASPCA spay/neuter truck which got insanely out of hand, with linebacker sized dudes screaming at little old ladies & shit.

I only signed up for 10c this year in hopes of getting some nice 10c tickets for the fall tour, every other time I've seen PJ was General Public Sale.

Even if I DO get GA tickets at some point in the fall, I'm steering clear of this evil-sounding GA line with it's Adolf Listers & dick measuring contests over who deserves to be where.

And I'm 5'2. So I value being close to the stage.

Can't we all just get along? :)

I guess lucky for you that PJ almost never has GA in North America. ... I think that sucks. Pj, please have GA floor when you come back to Vancouver. We need it - our crowds suck. :P

Oh OK. But are you for sure that this will be true for Wrigley? I mean it would be nice to know definitively for this show, not just what was done in the past at other spots. Like I said, I'm guessing there will be only 1 entrance let in for GA. Here's from the Wrigley website:

Gates: There are four designated fan access gates:

Gate D is located on the corner of Sheffield Avenue and Addison Street
Gate F (the main gate) is located behind home plate at the corner of Clark and Addison Streets, beneath the iconic red marquee.
Gate K is located in the northwest corner of the stadium at the corner of Seminary and Waveland Avenues, directly across from the fire station.
The Bleacher Gate entrance is located at the corner of Sheffield and Waveland Avenues.

Now my guess would be that the let-in for GA would be along Waveland Ave. at Gate K. But I suppose it could be possible that both Gate K and Gate D could allow for GA entrance. I would guess that the Bleacher Gate entrance wouldn't be open at all as it would lead to the back of the stage. But again, these are only guesses. Perhaps the main gate of Gate F could allow the GA in to be led down the lower bowl and onto the field near the third base Cubs home dugout. (And just a a little side note. My late grandfather who grew up in Chicago told me that he used to get in free to watch the games from left field. He was friends with a firefighter stationed at that station that is still in existence today. The Cubs always allowed those firefighters on duty to go across the street and on in for a free look.)

Oh and I know there's a lot of you that are going to be bringing your own "grass" on into the field. But I found this too on the official website:

Grass: The grass playing field is a sports blend of Kentucky Blue Grass and Rye.

me?yes,im sure..the only reason to be different would be security reasons,i dont see it..not a big GA area at wrigley..
GA tickets will get into the GA area by showing the wristband every time go in and out)toilet, get a drink have access to merch..etc..so will be one check point..as it is at all the venues on the planet...
especially at wrigley, when on the sides and on the back of GA will be seated area..yes im sure..one entrance, and probably one exit only after the show ends

Yeah I get that. But there's a lot of venues that have more than one entry way into the GA area. Like from both sides. Wrigley could allow GA access from both left field and right field for instance. But what I was referring to was GA getting into the park. Those entrances. Will there be just 1 or perhaps 1 from both sides of the park. Where will the GA entrance be in other words. See my previous posts on the 4 lettered gates.

Cool. I totally agree with you. Someone in this thread a few pages back just brought up the possibility that there could be more than one. I was just wondering if anyone had actual official written proof of how it'll go down at Wrigley, rather than just speculation. More than likely it will be only 1 way in for GA, and thus we'll have "The line & The list", but hopefully without "The list" as all but only 1 or 2 posts in this entire thread were for it. I think all can agree that seeing them up close is something worthy of waiting out for to earn. And I think all can agree that it sucks when some people honestly put in their time, while others are off doing whatever they want because they feel they can due to their name being on "The list". Coming early in the morning, getting on "The list" and then having a worry-free day being aloof from the line is just plain wrong.

10c is the only responsible about to say to their fans where is the entrance of fan club GA TIX..wrigley will not confirm you anything official...a week before the show date or so,will get an email with box office info, hours,GA entrance gate and probably a map..the rest have fan club tix ,at lower or upper,no need diraction, will not be any 10c sign entrance..they will see where are their seats printed on tix and go to the right entrance..\]
GA tix email from 10c will be different than the rest..as always

Yep. For sure. I was ust wondering if anyone had seen anything in any of the official 10 Club correspondence on GA tix put out thus far on whether there was only going to be one entrance. Again, most likely this will be the case. And again my guess is the line will be along Waveland. Too bad there won't be any batting practice home run balls to shag like there is on a game day at that very same spot.

More than one entrance for GA could be problematic unless all GA gates opened literally at the exact same time and were all the exact same distance from the pit. I mean, once they open I'm pretty sure it's a foot race to the rail for a lot of people (you crazy fuckers  ). I know it happens at plenty of places, but I wonder for a show like PJ, where they are super conscious of the competition for a good spot in the pit.
But anything is possible until they give the specifics!

Well I'm one of the folks who was interested in actually trying to run the list at Wrigley. The reason is because I would hope for a relaxed time, but it seems the majority is against said list. I am not a Nazi, nor would I run a strict list. However; I would like to personally attend the Wishlist fundraiser party for a bit. I've only been on the rail for one concert in my life, Arcade Fire, and it was a great show. I did spend 8 hours in blazing sun for that opportunity. But to get the chance to be on the rail for Pearl Jam would is one of my top bucket list items. This is my 4th PJ show, I'm travelling 15 hours or so to spend a few days with many of my friends I've never physically met. I will be attending the UnOfficial BBQ the day before to get my pre-show buzz on. The day of the show will be dedicated mostly to line sitting and meeting many new friends. But if the list brings out this much anger in such a few, I'm all for scratching the list and hope for the best. Whatever, this show will be amazing.

One of the points made in this thread was that attending a pre-party and having your spot saved in the line due to "The list" is not equal to waiting in line. I'm pretty sure everyone waiting in line for the rail would love to be hanging out at the pre-party instead of sitting there on the cement in the hot sun. I guess you have to ask yourself if you feel right with partying at the pre-party because your name is on some list that saves your spot in line, while others are actually putting in the time waiting there. That really is the whole point. What's fair?

But if there is a list, those who would love to drop by at the pre-party can do so,and everyone wins. Isn't THAT the whole point?
But I think the method used by Springsteen is brilliant - PJ should jus do that, and this whole debate goes away.

Yes, the Boss method would take care of all of this and perhaps the 10 Club will adopt it in the future. As for the point of all getting to stop by the party through the use of the list, well, where is the cutoff? Where do you call it waiting in line, versus being off partying? So, some are there for 37 minutes, another is there for an hour and 17 minutes, and another for 2 hours and 5 minutes, etc. Where is the cutoff? Where has one put in the time waiting to earn their spot on the rail? If people show up at 6 am and get on the list, and then return at 4:30 pm expecting to have their spot, or any other such combination of long-being-away from the line abuses, who's to tell them they really aren't going to get their spot? How much time is proper for being away does the list allow for? Who determines that? Adolph Listler? Who is going to police that one person on the list is ok because their "just stopping by for a bit" was acceptable versus someone else's time away was not? Judging that would be a nightmare. And the ones that are away for way too long, who return expecting their spot to be saved on the list simply get away with it. You are either waiting in line for something very special that a lot are willing to wait in line for, or you're not. If there is a list, it just allows for people to avoid actually waiting in line. And those that end up truly waiting their turn in line and don't care to be off at parties are the ones the list ends up screwing over.
