    It never ceases to amaze me how some people's belief systems influence their thought patterns. It's really dangerous to simply adhere to indoctrinated beliefs and annoint them the ultimate beliefs. One must be open to change if change is warranted.

    The change I speak of only comes from reflecting on one's values and belief set... and then measuring these by analysis of alternative and conflicting beliefs and values. One cannot ignore overwhelming statistics, the works of exceptional scholars, the study of history and/or mathematics that serve as disproof for one's beliefs.

    Failure to apply critical thinking to all facets of life leads to biased and sometimes destructive attitudes that are counterproductive to the progress of humanity.

    A democracy is bound to fail when members within it do not engage in critical thought thought. A democracy only works best when all members of it fulfill their responsibility within it and become educated and knowledgeable regarding the neverending issues affect their country. You can't 'play' democracy... you have to 'act' democracy. If your opinion and your vote means something... then you are responsible for engaging in critical thought and testing your belief system.

    When many do not... the country they belong to truly needs a wise and fair King- not a bunch of misinformed and stubborn people- to make the appropriate decisions.

    Very well said. If you love something, you care for it in every sense...even when it's difficult. You objectively look at the problems and explore what needs to be done to correct those problems. I liken it to a parent who has a child who gets straight As, but has behavioral problems and is getting into trouble; the parent can turn a blind eye and have a "not my child attitude" or they can look deeply at the routes of the problems and think critically about what needs to be done to correct them.

    I know most of you hate me here but I will stand on the fact that if all the world did what you suggest, USA give back the land to the Natives, then 1/2 of the world would have to retreat back to where it came from!

    F4F.. the welfare system does more to help the needy then you give credit for... their are more needy people out their that genuinely need the assistance then people who you taking advantage of the system.
