haven't had a tumbler before... description looks good...
Can't wait for the temperature to drop here a little bit and it actually be cool enough to drink all the autumn seasonsals...
I find big malt backbones aren't so agreeable in 95+ heat.... but they're all coming out now regardless....
It's great. I discovered it 2 years ago on a road trip to Penn State, I'll save the shower jokes. We went to a bar that had it on tap and we actual kicked the keg after drinking it for 5 hours. We had a tough time getting back to the winnebago.
As much as I love Sierra, it's not the best hanging out in high temp beer. I'm still holding on to a 12 of the 2011 Celebration Ale.Alright, alright, alright!

From my experience I feel like Celebration Ale is much better consumed when fresh. That is one beer I do not want to "age".severed hand thirteen2006: Gorge 7/23 2008: Hartford 6/27 Beacon 7/1 2009: Spectrum 10/30-31

So... I had my bottle of Cucumber Saison tonight..
I honestly have to say that it was probably the worst tasting beer I've had in a very long time... the cucumber aroma and taste was just too pungent for me... I don't know how I finished the bottle... it was a mistake... I should have stopped after the first glass...
I went to have a Sierra Nevada Summerfest after I finished it just to wash the taste out of my mouth, and it won't go away! ugh.... I wish I had of had a ruiniation or a heavy stout in the fridge that was cold instead - something that would have totally cleansed the palate... even now I can still taste cucumber... So I think I'm done with beer for the night.. on to bed.
On the plus side of things, I hit up my usual bottle shop today for the first time in 3 weeks (out of town traveling and what not the last little while) and this week they had just gotten a huge DFH shipment! piles of 90, 60, and palo santo sitting around... and I talked to the beer guy and he passed me the last bottle of Theobrama in the shop, a bottle of the Postive Contact, and a 4-pack of Tweason'ale! Quite the haul, along with a 4 pack of the new DIPA from southern star I wound up spending $45, when I went in thinking I was going to leave empty handed... don't tell the girlfriendHouston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.0 -

My celebration has not turned.
Had a Thomas Creek, Up the Creek this weekend. Wow, I guess I should look at the ABV before tasting it, 12.5%. It was pretty good.
I also grabbed a case of Tumbler and the Beer camp this weekend.Alright, alright, alright!

Had a Tweason'ale last night from DFH - pretty good considering it's gluten free! The strawberry scent wasn't overwhelming, and the beer was well carbonated, with a gorgeous reddish-orange color... The rest of the 4-pack will be heartily enjoyed.
Gonna get to crack the first of my homebrew this week... can't want to give it a try... hopefully the pale ale turned out drinkable.... brewed the second batch this weekend - bought a "caribou slobber" kit from Northern brewer... it's a brown ale... Anybody have much experience brewing with Wyeast liquid yeasts? It's been about 36 hous and their hasn't been any activity yet... wondering if I need to pitch another yeast... I have some dry yeast left over from a previous brew, and even though it's not part the northern brewer receipe, I figure it's better than letting the wort go to waste...Houston, Texas...
