Went to a new place in my area a few weeks ago called Bigby's - all craft beers...incredible bar! Had some amazing brews including rootbeer beer which is delish. They had a bottle of Three Floyd's Dark Lord - 2010 I think - on the shelf. One day it will be mine. Oh yes it will be mine.

Goose Island is now a Budweiser (In-Bev) product
The IPA is brewed at the In-Bev brewery outside Fort Collins, CO.
So therefore it is also not a craft beer

Yep they sold out. Not saying I wouldn't have though .
I just hope DFH never get bought out. I doubt they will.
Tonight I had a bottle brought back from Belgium for me by a work friend called Cuvee De Trolls... it was a witbier... more yeasty/complex then a normal witbeer though... he insisted on bringing me back some belgian's as I have been supplying him with some homebrew for the last few months and he wanted to pay me back...
also had some of my recent shipment of La Cumbre Elevated IPA from New Mexico.... that stuff is freaking awesome.... i have a trading partner who used to live in Houston and is now in El Paso.... he can't get Houston beers anymore, so I ship him out the locals in exchange to NM stuff.... the La Cumbre Elevated is the best he's sent so far... it is fantastic... one of the best IPA's i've ever had for sure....
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.
As posted earlier.....if any of you live in or near the Denver/Boulder area. Or are planning to visit the Denver/Boulder area I work at Crystal Springs Brewing new tasting room in Louisville, CO. Come by and visit and enjoy some really good craft beers.
just finished up my first ever bottle of black ops (feeling a little inebriated right now, but that's ok cause 81's not around)...;)
it good... but...
since i've had a couple of Prairie Noirs and BCBS lately, it's what I've got to compare it to... it doesn't have that awesomely smooth mouthfeel that BCBS does, and it's lacking the balance of the Noir....
So, while it is great, i've been spoiled rotten lately with bourbon barrel aged beers lately (and I haven't even cracked any of my Black Tuesday yet), and i'm a little underwhelmed at the moment...
I also picked up some Firestone walker 17 today, and an Enjoy By 02.14.2014.... the Stone is on the menu for tomorrow, can't wait!

from what i've read about goose island, even though they are owned by budweiser now they still have the freedom to pretty much do what they want. i like their beers.

I remember liking their stuff when I went to the brewery after a Cubs game around PJ20. But then I got it a few weeks ago and it tasted very bland to me. Maybe it had been sitting there and the hops wore off. I will give it one more try.
The Great American Beer Fest in Denver this year sounds like a pretty decent idea for a long weekend given Colorado's new laws. That could be a debacle.
at least it's not pumpkin but the brandy snifter glass is kind of femmy

Oh boy, this is some good stuff. Watch out though.
My other piece of advice....GO.TO.OMMEGANG. Quite possibly my favorite place on earth.
it's so fucking good.
one of these days, i'll get up to cooperstown and will have visit ommegang. hennepin is another one of theirs i am quite fond of.
Yessir. There are a couple different ways to do it but my recommendation would be to plan it around a concert at Ommegang. They have some sweet shows and you can camp out on the property and it is basically the greatest thing ever. For the bigger shows I doubt they do it, but they have a massive bon fire all night after the show too.
I would plan that at the end of a couple night trip. One night or so stay in cooperstown, do the hall of fame and all that jazz, go out to dinner, then the next night head to ommegang for a concert. You will most definitely not regret it.

you're kidding. right?
I'd probably just go straight out of the bottle.

When you order a beer with an alcohol content that high at a bar or something, it usually comes in a snifter. Someone else here can probably tell you the exact reason but I think it has something to do with the aroma or something.

Cannot wait for Hunaphu Day though come March. Big bottle shares, and lots of great CCB brews too.

the only think that would make it better is if they aged it in a bourbon barrel
I'm going to ask, but maybe I just missed the sarcasm....
You know that "quadruple" is a style of beer and not a quantity.... right?
