Not digging anything pandora. Why have a gun if it the intention is not to use it? Use it for it's ultimate purpose - killing? Whatever the initial reason for this was. If there is no intent to use it for it's 'proper' function, there is no reason to have it. Guns were invented to kill. That is their purpose.

absolutely.. people were killing people all over the world in many wars and invasions, but gun murders aren't an issue in other countries apart from America. The 'right to bear arms' seems to be a holding pattern on progress in America and I believe the reason why there are so many more deaths here then any other country.

I haven't got the right to bear arms in Australia before or after that ONE massacre that occured.. it sounds stupid.

I would not want to live in a country that does that. ..

Actually Australia is currently having a bit of a problem with the youth I believe.
Maybe they do not like the idea of such powerlessness.
I was hoping to research more on the subject but have not gotten to it.

It is definitely a different mindset and our problems here can dwarf other countries.

Cops: Unhappy patron kills three at Alabama strip club

    http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/08 ... -club?lite

Three people were shot and killed and another injured by a dissatisfied patron of a strip club in Alabama late Thursday, police say.

Houston County Sheriff Andy Hughes told NBC News the shooting happened at Teasers, a topless nightclub outside of Dothan, Ala.

Police arrested the alleged shooter, Ryan Clark Petersen, 22, at 7:30 a.m. CT and charged him with three counts of capital murder and one count of attempted murder.

Authorities received a call about a shooting around 11:30 p.m. Thursday. When deputies arrived on scene, they found four people who had been shot.

Hughes said that a dispute erupted in the club after Petersen complained about a dancer's performance and began touching her. A club employee asked Petersen to leave and escorted him outside. Petersen then allegedly went to his car and retrieved a handgun and reentered the night club and opened fire.

The victims of the shooting included one of the club’s female dancers, a male employee and a male patron.

Hughes said police are not releasing the names of the victims until their families have been notified.

The nightclub, in the Wicksburg community just west of Dothan, is about 100 miles southeast of Montgomery.

Well I am glad you could move Jonny but not all can, you know this,
and that is an important point.

Millions is that how many millions? there are millions upon millions upon millions who own guns.
It is like you said in most households. So obviously there is a need whether you think so or not.
The person making the choice does. They feel the need because yes most who home invade,
carjack, rape, murder have guns, even petty robbery now.

I just don't see how that does not tell you something. People must have the right to choose.

Do you think this guy is your average law abiding person that owns a gun?

Do you think he owns his gun responsibly as millions and millions do?

Was his gun legal at all?

I would say too bad there was not a responsible person there carrying to stop this guy...
because once again the police are there to clean up a crime scene, after the fact.

it's all fun and games until someone gets shot.

then it is self defense and it is the shooter's right to do so...

You've completely missed the point about moving. Of course I finally moved, but in the 7 years I was there, I was unable to move. But in that 7 years where I was unable, my desire to get a gun NEVER became a NEED.

Personally, I think your bias is showing. You think people NEED guns now. That is righ tup there along twith the culture that got us into this problem of having too many guns. I will admit my bias, all the people I know dont need guns. Most have even told me this. They get them because they can, its a culture -- its easy, and makes some of them feel empowered. I've never known one person to use their weapon out of need. But I have known several who have lost their ability to own a gun because they either didnt need it or couldnt be responsible enough.

Just becasue there are a lot of something, doesnt prove need. it proves there is a mrket because of our culture. Does anyone need cigarettes? nope.
