Really is this what you are saying?
Oh I am very sorry then that I took those insults to heart, my mistake.
It's just the same term was used towards me earlier in the thread from a different poster
is all ...
I'm sure you can understand my mistake.
I know honesty is very important in your line of work so of course I will take
your word here.
Also like I said very much against posting guidelines to make personal comments ...
for whatever reason.
I have never needed help but thank you
and I accept your version of the story...
all forgiven
I look forward to continuing the conversation about crime/guns/mental illness with posters who share my opinion as well as those who offer differing points of views.[/quote
that probably helps in your line of work a sense of humor...me too.
There are some with no sense of humor really I find in life
well unless they are making someone the burnt of a joke. Snide remarks and such.
Not sure why you think I was relying on your profession I actually questioned it I think :?
I am always ready to admit if I misunderstood someone though and took something personal
not directed at me.
I think most people here can do that.... don't you think?
Hey explain how someone, not me of course, was being Narcissistic in the thread,
seeing that you brought that up...
Isn't that vanity like those with a picture of themselves as their avatars?
I have never really understood that term or the personality...
not knowing anyone like that.
But wait thats off topic... though you brought it up we better not carry that further...
I'll google I guess. Learn a little about shh-tuff or you could pm me with
what brought that conclusion.
I too am awaiting what they discover about James Holmes, if he is indeed a schizophrenic
or one having a thought disorder, as so many trained professionals have eluded to.
I hope they don't try to fry him anyways... that's my fear.Post edited by pandora on0 -

the changes I suggest include but not limited to:
1) A highly regulated system whereas tracking takes place of who buys guns, how many, where etc. so if someone has a huge stockpile there will be a red flag. Gun registration in essence just like with your car (but your car isn't used a murder weapon.
2) gun safety training be mandatory to everyone who owns and buys a gun.
3) make it law that guns and ammo need to be locked up away from harm of children and others.
4) ban the use of all semi automated weapons.. no point to have these unless you are either tony montana or rambo.
and that's just a startI'm just flying around the other side of the world to say I love you

are so incredibly rare and no law will ever make them stop.
There will remain incidents like this always, it would help though for people to empower
themselves and refuse to be victims but there is only so much one can learn and do to prepare.
Like bombings, that will be impossible to control with much worse bloodshed.
So intead of laws maybe common sense and go to the source of ...
why so much hate, fear, jealousy, vindictiveness and total disregard for another's feelings
or life as in the case of the thugs who prey on our elderly.Post edited by pandora on0 -

you think the system is fine as it is?
it really is your words there though that worry me...
"rambo and that's just a start."
my reluctance...
this one reason why nothing ever goes forward ...
give an inch take a mile theory
my common sense tells me safety training is of the upmost
but I am not for banning any guns, I need to research registering
and more extensive background checks although that would not have stopped
the recent shooters.
I do not own one though, if laws are changed by the majority I will hope they
stop crime but feel that will not be the outcome.0 -

And no...I'm not really a therapist. I just play one on the internet.as an Internet therapist it's my role to give honest feedback, not coddle feelings.
Beautiful CBG, I go to sleep this morning and I have to read a book to catch up by mid evening WOW!

I agree, CBG you respond perfectly well objectively well...it's when one comments are in disagreement they somehow become insulting. Please.

I agree except for #4 because that'll NEVER fly in this country. Instead have a waiting period of 3 weeks to get whatever gun one MUST have.

Peace
but it NEEDS to fly. no one ever thought that gay marriage would fly. no one ever thought that women voting would fly. no one ever thought that racial integration would fly. I think it can.

ComeToTX wrote:Sorry, the people that buy their guns legally and then go on rampages have ruined it for all of you. Tough shit.
I guess everyone who drives drunk, impaired, speeds, runs red lights, texts while driving, talks on their cell phone, falls asleep at the wheel, fails to pay attention, etc. and kills and/or injures someone and who buys their cars legally and obtains their driver's licenses legally have ruined it for everyone as well right?Just using your logic. I guess five people killed in a speeding accident isn't as important or socially relevant to five people killed by some random wacko? It doesn't make good press or isn't highly debatable on TV when running for office. It's just not sexy. BTW...there will be CONSIDERABLY MORE people killed by autos tomorrow not only in numbers but percentage of population. But screw those people...I want my car....I'm not riding a bus!
There will also be more people killed by noxious gases tomrrow in th US than by firearm...legal or illegal. Ban the cars and noxious gases!!!!!

I do believe that automatic firearms manufactured after 1986 are actually illegal to sell in the US and banned from private ownership. I'll have to check on that but I'm fairly sure I'm correct. As far as your "need" to own...some people like them to fire and use at the gun range or just to have...I'll bring it back to my major point in this thread....does anyone need a car that can go 190MPH? Those cars are legal right? WHo and why would you need that? :corn:0
