It's an odd situation, when the brick wall has a better understanding of what you are saying.

who's on first :?
oh rubbish?
really why cause it doesn't agree with your opinion?
Is that good debate form?
If someone did that to your contributions would you consider that characteristic of a narrow mind?
Not listening to the other opinions?
No.... the post was discussing sources. When one quotes, one sources.
Rubbish because incorrect, non referenced facts. I gave the facts - compare the two. Then debate. But I think your meaning of debate is not the same as most here.
Narrow mind.. ooOOoo... I do admire your way of twisting things
OK... enough of this. I (and others) have explained in so many ways the difference between facts and presenting opinion as facts. Until one understands that....

from an opposite opinion :fp: ..
Because 'somebody' who is used to this kind of thing and knew of the 'real' study stated that what was presented as fact was actually opinion does not stop ANYONE here from reading the article, maybe even checking the link in 'somebody's' response to 'justify' the comments and FORGE THEIR OWN OPINION.
Wow... you are actually stating that 'somebody' has such incredible influence on all... amazing.0 -

you are right. most police officers KNOW that if two people were to get robbed or mugged or whatever, one pulled a gun on the thief and one didn't, who would be alive to tell the story?

I hope I'm the only one that hopes Miss Ruby chokes on a pretzel so we can finally shut the fuck up about her already.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!

Are you really a therapist cause that was incredibly insensitive?

Don't put yourself on a pedestal.
Most here have presented opinion, as I have. Just not opinion presented as fact. Yet again... very different!0 -
JonnyPistachio wrote:Also, as far as big cities with high crime like DC, I saw this:
Many criminologists say cultural, economic and demographic factors play a big role in murder rates, and some say the number of guns and the number of murders may well be uncorrelated.
I would think so too and it seems such an obvious thing, though only studies would confirm and I am sure there are some very solid ones around. Root causes of gun crime has been mentioned several times in this thread and it would be interesting to look into it. But it seems the thread always went back to the 89 year old granny....0 -

And no...I'm not really a therapist. I just play one on the internet.as an Internet therapist it's my role to give honest feedback, not coddle feelings.
