    Love Tumbler in the fall. Had it on tap at a PSU bar one year and we drank it for 5 hours. Good times.
    Alright, alright, alright!

    The Dark Truth Stout was pretty good... I will definitely be buying more...

    on tap for the Skills Competition tonight is Ruthless Rye, and Laguntis Slightly stupid ale...

    friday = stout night

    saturday = IPA night...

    :lol:

    I'd never heard of hopslam before a couple of posts in here the last few days...

    was overly disappointed yesterday when I was talking to my beer rep to learn that Bell's and the TABC don't like each other very much... so no Hopslam in Texas :cry: ....
    Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

    There is proposed legislation that would raise the ABV peak from 5.9% to 8.9%....it would still be lagging but that sure would open the door to lots of stuff we can't get here as it is

    Ruthless Rye was very good.

    Poured a bottle of DFH Chickory Stout into a crock pot of roast beef and it was delicious.

    I found a place in the Poconos that had Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale on tap :shock:

    Same place also had Sam Adam's Alpine Spring Ale and it was not so good. It tastes like pine needles.

  • I wasn't impressed very much with alpine spring either. But of the 18 or so SA's I've had it and the cherry wheat are the only ones I wouldn't really want to have again...pretty good percentage

  • Grabbing a 1/6 keg for this weekend...what should I get? We were thinking either Sam Adams Boston Lager, Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye or Brooklyn Winter.

    of those three...Sierra Nevada...no doubt about it...and i say that without having ever tasted it. :lol:

    Sam Adams is the most over rated beer....

    I've had Brooklyn but it was unmemorable.

    Tried the Ruthless the other night. It is a tasty beer & blows the other 2 choices out of the water.

    It's like 2.5 cases. Something in the neighborhood of 55 beers. If we're doing it for the superbowl, probably be enough for 6 people or so. Nothing crazy. Its just easier than bottles.

    Ruthless Rye is the easy choice here. Nothing against Boston Lager, but to me they're not in the same league.
    I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

    I don't know the full story but I think Sierra Nevada is opening a brewery near Asheville, NC.

    They are. It was finalized and announced over the weekend. New Belgium is also trying to open a brewery there. Going to be a really cool beer destination.

    Absolutely. I wish they'd been there when I was living in NC.
