Just woke up, going back to bed actually--- ears are STILL ringing, BOOYAH!
Definitly the best Pearl Jam show I've seen, and the best Pittsburgh show by far. You could tell the guys were all having fun and loving playing last night.
How about when Ed went to run off and ATE it on Stone's amp chord and unplugged his guitar and they all were laughing and scrambling to plug it back in , hahahahah NICE ONE!!!
I thought at one point I noticed an older lady on the side of the stage and Ed went over and gave her a huge hug during one song. Relative maybe? None of my business though, but she was visible, and lit up a bit during one song.
No one mentioned the all the smokes being thrown on stage, Ed said someone threw a joint up, and he said Pittsburgh would be his favorite town if he smoked a joint on stage, then said "Someone throw up a lighter" and about 10 lighters immediately went flying up--- Ed picked up a smoke and dissed someone for throwing up a Marlboro light and threw it back at them. Hah! Near the end of the entire show, Ed went up to the pile of cigs and started machine gunning them back into the crowd.
He also smashed those cymbols to holy hell last night and seemed to enjoy doing so and laughing about shooting the metal near the drums.
The guys ALL played their hearts out and you could really feel the love last night. Ed just put it ALL out there. Like he said, it was like having a brick wall in front of you and just saying fuck it and hitting the gas.
OK-- back to bed for me.
THANK YOU PEARL JAM!i am jack's ukulele

This show was awesome. Being from Cincinnati, not a big fan of the city of Pittsburgh (for obvious reasons we will not go into) but I could not have asked for better opener than Release. Halfway thru the show I said to my daughter, "I could die happy right now" I am glad I did not because the rest of the show was so great. Smile was a pleasant surprise. Diisident, well one of my all time favorites. I could go on but.....

I want to thank foxymop and the othe organizers of the pre-party because that was a great way to get my day going into pearl jam. And. The yeild wristband is fucking sweet.
The Show was incredible. Incredible. Garden was amazing and i loved I got ID. Man of the hour was a nice suprise and do the evolution shined like always. In hiding was my highlight and i LOVED smile in the last encore.
The crowd was amazing. I had 3 people who sat in my section - 40 year old mother and he two 12-15 year old daughters.. Daddy probably grabbed them tickets and said - "Hey, this should be a good show you can go to!" but other than those 3 people EVERYONE was on feet throwing high fives and rocking real hardcore. Did some random ballroom dancing with girls i didnt even know - the music was just melting the place and the crowd into one big mess of hardcore energy.
PS: Im almost positive i heard them play Hail, Hail - tell me i didnt dream this. I dont see it on the setlist.
you're probably thinking about the cover band "Ten" playing Hail Hail. they definitely played it at the pre-party.Caught a bolt 'a lightnin'...cursed the day he let it go...
Please say, that if you hadn't of gone now
I wouldn't have lost you another way0 -
ha, your right.
as my head becomes more clear and clear (i just woke up an hour ago.. and now just got out of the shower) i remember every tiny thing that happened. I usually hate cover bands but those guys were damn good.06/23/2006 - Best night of my life.

This is the first time I've gone to two PJ shows in one tour and I feel blessed! I'm definitely going to try to make it to at LEAST two shows per tour! Had a great time last night, and the guy next to me was nice enough to get some good pics for me, since I'm only 5'0 and didn't really have a good angle for taking good pics. (Thanks, T!) Loved Comatose, Severed Hand and Why Go. Oh yeah almost forgot--My friend and I arrived early and enjoyed a solo by Ed before he introduced Robert Pollard. I didn't recognize the song but it was good! Also, during the performance, Robert said he needed a cigarette so Ed, nice guy that he is, brought one out for him, already lit." I am no man!"

Fucking Smile and an absolutely beautiful arrangement of Garden...I personally can't ask for too much more than that. Have been seeing these cats for years, unfortunately only around the Burgh/PA area, but by far...best goddamn Pittsburgh show. We were some very lucky folks last night. Amazing set and the sound was MUCH better than I've experienced in Civic (mellon) on many occasions. Talk me into it folks...a little peer pressure is all I need and my wife and I are on the road to ohio (short trip fortunately).Sidewalk, Cigarettes, and Scenes

Did Stone and Jeff switch instruments?
Details are appreciated
.
Yeah...Jeff and Stone did switch and Ed announced it, AND was pleased with Jeff on the six string. He held his own...but all who saw last night should fall and worship guitar god, Mike Mcready....fuck, he was on last night. Ed's harmonica was solid and beautiful to hear...he played it well, but the feeling it gave was mind-blowing. Atleast to me and the lady and hopefully many, many others.Sidewalk, Cigarettes, and Scenes

some nice nuggets in setlist we didn't get in Cleveland... hearing DTE so early then followed shortly thereafter by In Hiding made it special 4 me, that took vibe to another level... same w/ Garden and I got Id was killer... all the avocado songs really rocked on a high level, crowd sang a lot on those, appreciation continues to deepen for those cuts...
loved Eddie dissing Pittsburgh a little, that made me smile... but like the band, i have long enjoyed catching shows there..."Fuck the talkin' let's start rockin" - Eddie Vedder 9-5-00 Pittsburgh

Thanks to my gracious friend Brian (oppie1), we once again scored amazing seats in front of Mike (4th row, end). Last time we were there, we were 1st row directly in front of Mike. This show was simply awesome. Lots of 30-somethings in the first 10 or so rows which makes an old-fart like me (33) feel right at home knowing these fans were there when it all started back in the early 90's.
The only thing disturbing to me was seeing a 6-month (maybe younger) old baby up in the front with his parents. He did have headphones on but something about seeing an infant at a loud rock show didn't click with me. I'm sure Mike saw him and hence the couple got copy of the setlist. Next time, I'll bring my wife and 10-month old son to the show. Not.
Highlights for me: Smile (for Oppie1), Why Go, Garden, Release, Dissident, and State of Love and Trust.
Also, Thanks Ed for not pushing your political views in our face this time. :-)0 -

I'm from the Cleveland area and it pains me to say this, but, Pittsburgh was a better show. setlist and crowd for sure. The Q has better acoustics and is newer and nicer but the Mellon wasn't too shabby either. Both shows were tremendous though. Had much better 10club seats for the burgh, probably because Cleveland was on a saturday and there were a lot of visitors in the area. I cant thank Pearl Jam enough for putting on a show like that night in and night out. What a great fucking time I had in Pittsburgh.walk the bridges,.......before you burn them down0

How was waiting on a friend? Anyone? Sounds like the Pittsburgh crowd was awesome unlike Ben Rothlesberger performance in the superbowl.(sorry I just had to get a shot in). Pittsburgh is a great city though I wouldnt put them in the Boston/Philly/NYC category just yet but they seem like they might be on my "the next, must go place to see a pearl jam show" list. Nice going Pitt.0

Pittsburgh was my 12th show and is def. in my top 5.I just want to thank everyone who was in the lower sections of West Igloo 1.. I took my little brother, he's 11, and it was his first concert. Besides the drunk idiots a few rows behind us, everyone was really polite and respected the fact that he is only 4'2". During the Rockin in the Free World Jam Session, he just watched the crowd in amazement when everyone was clapping and dancing. He really got a treat for his first shows. Thanks for the great time..I'm gone ..Long gone..This time I'm letting go of it all...So long...Cause this time I'm gone0
