I forgot to mention...how AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL Eddie sounded doing Throw Your Arms Around Me before Pollard came on. I wish it'd be on the bootleg, I'd never heard it live before until last night and it was just beautiful.0

You could've plugged his ears up with cement and I guarantee that his little eardrums would still be ringing after that show. The best example of selfishness I've witnessed in a long time. If the babysitter did cancel, take your lossses and put your child to bed and let him/her sleep like an angel. Truely messed up.
I'm was a child was taken to many concerts by my parents, and i now have my own children, whom will surely enjoy concerts in their youth with their daddy...but, fuck, there are some rules...i had been following that shit but for some reason it didn't register with me that it was an infant....not cool at all...especially when my wife and i spent almost 6 months wondering if our newborn was born deaf...without us blowing out his eardrums....ruless for children...simple....no infants. it's really a parents call but my kids don't start any shows until 8 or 9 and that is being liberal....plus....get over it folks...if you want to take your kids....nosebleed seats....just the way it is....hell, earplugs required in nosebleed, especially at the fucking civic, or mellon, fuck name changes...okay...bye nowSidewalk, Cigarettes, and Scenes

This was my 3rd and last show of this tour, and by far the best. I think the setlists in Cleveland and Detroit were a little more to my liking, but the energy last night was beyond belief! Best crowd I've ever been a part of, the only one that compares is Buffalo '03. Good show, nice to see Smile, and Waiting on a Friend... But I was really hoping to see some rarities. I guess when you see them 10times a year you get spoiled. The energy was great, for a small arena it rocked pretty fierce... Wouldve been much louder if it had sold out.
----NOTE: I LIKED THE SHOW, my opinion was just that the set was the blandest
Hey, I just wanted to say I know exactly how you felt about the show. I understand it's hard to explain how great you think the show was, and that it just wasn't the greatest you'd ever seen. The setlist, too, for me, was what placed this show near the bottom of all the shows I've seen.
One other thing that bummed me out about this show was my section: Igloo club west 2. I've read how great the crowd was at the show, however, this section was full of a bunch of arms crossed, stand there, do nothing, can't even clap after a song, sit down during encore breaks lame-o-s. It really brings the show down a notch when the people around you are this. I still jumped, danced, and sang the whole show, but I'm sure you know what I mean.
The real highlights of the show, for me, were
1. Throw Your Arms Around Me Preset
2. Jeff and Stone switching instruments for Smile (Didn't it make you "smile" to watch Jeff playing guitar?)
3. Release to open
4. Black
5. My Own Two Hands tag on Daughter
6. Ed blocking the spotlight to extend Mike's solo when the crowd started clapping, and then shining the light around the arena of the reflection from the guitar.
7. Man of the Hour
8. Porch opening and jam-out
9. I Got Id
10. Waiting on a Friend (I don't really know this song, but I could tell once I get the boot it will be one of my favs)
11. Dissident, Garden, and In Hiding were treats
12. Go, Why Go, Comatose to start the 2nd encore
13. The Ames poster from the show is awesome! The red card stock with the black, old school typewriter, typed out "blood on all the pistons." Not the fanciest poster, but somehow with this one there was a lot of beauty in it's simplicity.
I think that's enough, but I feel like there were a few other things that happend to make this one special in its own way.
I just wanted to post this because it seemed like we felt similar ways about the show and just wanted other people that read or responded to your review had a little better understanding of the show. All the above was absolutely awesome, but the set list left a little to be desired. Not a big deal.
And lastly, I feel a hell of a lot better after looking at Cinci's set list.

true we saw it and my friend is paramedic. he was talking to the paramedics on call last night they rolled out about 10 people out of the show as soon as it started. the paramedics said they couldn't believe they were rolling people out so early. that is why they closed the beer stands earlier then normal. they completely shut the stands down you couldn't even get water. they were telling people to go the drinking fountains which were full of shit. as for cops didn't see any in venue they were all over at cleveland1992-07-29 Cuyahoga Falls

The only thing that caught my attention was one of the head security guys running towards the back from backstage to the back of the floor somewhere. This must be what it was for.0 -

I was sitting in section C22 and some kid fell off from the railing and onto the cement during the first couple of songs. It was too dark for anyone to see what was going on, but it was very disturbing. He fell face forward on the cement and wasn't moving at all. The paramedics came and took him away on a stretcher. I hope he was okay.....it kind of put a damper on the beginning of the show, but I still had a great time.Pittsburgh '00

This was my first show ever in Pitt and I'm disappointed I hadn't seen a show there sooner. It was my 29th overall and my 8th this tour and was by far my favorite one yet this tour and first one to crack my top 10 overall.
The crowd was just amazing and I had my best 10 club seats ever using my number (first row of section 6 right by the walkway to closer sections so I had a totally unobstructed view of the show from 18 rows back from the stage and could see the whole stage without having to look left or right.)
Like I always say, there has never been a bad show where Release opens. To me it's the perfect opener and a precursor to knowing it's going to be a special show. I love the way they're mixing the new songs in more in the set and not just playing 5 or 6 in the first few songs of the show.
In Hiding was definitely a highlight. I lost my voice when SOLAT came on. Hearing the trio of Garden, I Got Shit and SOLAT was amazing.
Porch and Black were some of the best versions I've ever heard. And how can you not Smile when Smile comes on.
All in all it was a tremendous show with tons of energy from the band and crowd. I love arena shows, but especially the older arenas that aren't as large as the newer ones that are too cavernous. The Mellon Arena reminded me a lot of my favorite show ever - the Spectrum show in 03 - and I'm so glad I had the opportunity to see Pearl Jam on its A Game with a crowd that was also on its A Game.
Plus I got to wear my old school Merril Hoge jersey as I'm a diehard Steelers fan living in Philly. It was really cool having random people hi-five me throughout the night and yelling out nice jersey and you go Hoge all night.- Busted down the pretext

As were my seats... Section 2, row G (seventh row center)
Met some great people emphasis on SOME...and my seat mate was awesome...aka Cateeto.
The Pre Party benefiting the CCFA was great, the cover band 10 wasn't too bad either.
Had a great time creating my scrapbook page and I hope there will be more fundraisers like that. (Maybe we could actually MEET MIKE? Is that possible?)
The set list...damn...missed pre set because some of our group were lagging behind...so we said fuck it, we're going...and missed preset and the opening band. Oh well, don't care.
The energy was all consuming and I think I really sweat all of my bodily fluids out...dancing, singing and smiling my ass off!
I've never seen Ed smile SO MUCH in my life as a fan. He truely looked happy and it showed. Although, he did get a quite tipsy and tripped over a monitor and unplugged Stone's guitar in the process! HA!
Every one of them looked pleased to be there. Ed did joke around about how Pitt wasn't their favorite place to play...but their 3rd favorite. Hrm...what are 1 and 2? Seattle and Boston? ; )
Chemistry between all the guys, (including Boom,) was evident, as the songs never lost their energy...with NO breaks during the first I don't know how many songs in the 1st set.
This is going to be ONE HELL of a bootleg.
It's not up yet! WAH!
Shout out to Cateeto and Foxy Mop. Wish I could have spent more time with you. PM me and maybe we could get together somehow, sometime!

Hey all--this was my 2nd PJ show and they were on FIRE. My first show was East Rutherford 2 (3 weeks ago), and I will say that I liked both setlists for different reasons...ER2 had more rarities (Rats/Hard to Imagine) but Pitt had all those standard songs that I've always wanted to hear live (Better Man/Daughter/EWBTCIAST). I think the highlight of Pittsburgh though was the opening of the 2nd encore...GO! How sweet was that? I remember he introduced it by saying, "This is like seeing a brick wall in front of you, and just stepping on the gas." So incredible. And the light show at the end of Go was the best of the night.
Now, I'm from Jersey, and I've seen a lot of shows in Jersey/Philly/NYC, and while I think the best PJ fans are from Philly, I have to give it up to the Pburgh crowd! Definitely better than ER2. I'm kind of embarrassed for my home state.6/3/06 East Rutherford

True. They're not going to play all rare songs every night, or even more than a couple, because that's not what anyone wants out of a select group. I mean, it was my first show. I wanted to hear Alive, Black, Porch, Release, Do The Evolution, and Go 1,000x more than I wanted to hear an obscure song off of Lost Dogs. Not that I don't love any rarity, but most of us wanted to hear Alive, or other such songs you might be sick of.Pittsburgh 6/23/06
