went to a place called "souper bowl" before and after the show after checking out a map of bars in the city before we drove out there. met some cool 10c'ers there too. cheap food and good beer, and it was about a 2 minute walk from the venue.

Yeah, there were a good number of people in there, went got in at about 3:00 and it was fairly dead, then as the show got closer, it got packed. Too bad they only had 10 in the jukebox...must have heard Porch 8 times while we were there. :D

As I was looking through the jukebox, Audioslave was playing and some girl came over and said "Who the fuck played this?!?" I just shrugged...then proceeded to play Creed's My Sacrifice just to see if people would notice. ;)

You said it! Im sooooooo pissed at my friend!!! because of him we had to leave early cause he was too fucked up earlier. We made it through half of the show but then he started freakin out cause he couldnt stop sweating and thought he was gonna pass out. I had to leave with him cause we went together. Fucker, i punched the shit out of him the next day. It wasnt my first show so that was good but come on, if i could go back i would have made him leave himself. I am still absolutely furious about this. They played an hour of songs from the show on krock here in pittsburgh and it just made me more pissed off. I work the late shift everyday and my friends all go out at night but i have to wake up early cause im a personal trainer. Anyway, i dont get to go out much, so ive basically waited three years for this concert and the asshole ruined it. He owes me sooooo big!

How pathetic to start a Steelers chant at a rock concert.
some people in my area started a 'Here we go Pearl Jam' chant, and those who didn't hear the 'Pearl Jam' did the stupid Steeler chant. Save it for football brother!

Well, i think i am the luckiest girl in the world today! Probably not, but i sure feel like it!! I was lucky enough to come upon a 3rd row seat for friday night!!!!!! It was the 2nd best night of my life(1st- birth of my son)!! It still feels like a dream! Third Row! My seat was halfway between eddie's and stone's mic stands. It was fucking awesome!!!! It's so hard to put my feelings into words!! It was such a spiritual experience! Stone even pointed at me at the end of the show!!

do I want some more i said yeah!

during the "my two hands" tag, ed and stone kept looking off to their left.......i kinda thought maybe a special guest would join them......

and 'rockin in the free world' was unbelieveable!!!!!!!
  • This was a great show. I would make it second to AC #2 for me. In Hiding and Smile were on my short list of songs I hoped to hear, so that made it great. The crowd was good except for the 14 year drunk kid with his head down for the whole show. He only stood up to take pictures with his 35 mm camara with no flash from 27 rows back. And there was the 7'0 tall kid who just stood there the entire time with his hands on his pockets.

The set list was great. I liked the sie of the igloo, but it was damn hot in there!

Let's hope for State College in 2007!

    I say yeahhhhhh!
    Hey brother.

The band was really into this show and the relationship they had with the crowd was explosive. Every time they open with “Release” you know you are in for a great show. But, they really jammed all of the songs. I was in Row 25 dead center and while not the closest floor seats the crowd was awesome around us. The girl 3 seats over, a self proclaimed “childless milf,” came prepared to share some vodka tainted water (which hit the spot) and also passed around a J later on which was also very well received in our section. Right next to me was a girl who did not know anything about Pearl Jam and her fan of a boyfriend. She got into the show a good bit and it was nice to have someone that didn’t know much about the bands followers see just how crazy the fans are for the music. I am also a big Stones fan, thanks to my father, and to hear “Waiting on a Friend” being played by my favorite band for the first time was awesome. The “Star Spangled Banner” tag at the end by Mike hit the spot as I was waiting for the last note of a great show to come when he went into it. Eddie kneeled down and looked really into it as he watched Mike go off. All in all I would say it was definitely in my top 5 PJ shows. The atmosphere was great. For all you PJ fans that don’t like the Here We Go Steelers chants you should do your homework as you will get them at every PJ show in the ‘Burgh. After all it’s a Football town with a drinking problem that loves a great show. I’m sure the band knew it was coming and actually led up to it with the great “Pittsburgh isn’t our favorite place to play” line. Then pausing at length for effect before coming out with “But it’s in our Top 3.” Hopefully they will be true to there word and be back next year. I only was able to get to this 1 show this time around and am planning on getting to many more next time around. Can’t wait.
  • it was a very magical night!!!
I remember during SOLAT(personal fav)I had my eyes closed, my arms in the air, and a huge smile on my face. And then the lights came up,and a spotlight went around. I didn't know it until it hit. What a feeling!!! Words just can't explain.

Well Pittsburgh was my second show of this tour and I could hardly wait. I had gone to Cleveland and that was such an awesome show my firend and I had to buy tickets to other shows. On our way over to Pitt my friend was talking to her best friend and she really wanted to come to the show so I stopped and bought another tickets show she could join us. As I got back in the truck i told my firend that doing things like this give you good karma.
It was finally time for the show and we all met and went in to anouther incredible show. The boys did not let us down, the setlist was incredible and they all played incredible. When the show was over my firend and i met back up and decided to just sit in the truck and look at the pictures we took instead of trying to fight the traffic. Once all the traffic was gone we left and as we drove around the arena I noticed some vans pulling into the tunnel under the arena and a small group of people. So we got out and thought if nothing else we can wave at the guys as they leave. We stood there and as we waited had a nice conversation with one of their security guards who asked us to make sure to stand to the side of the drive way because the vans usually just come flying out. Then he counted us and walked over to talk to us. He told us to all take a deep breath and relax that the van was going to pull up and Eddie was going to get out and shake hands with us. Then the van pulled up and Eddie got out and shook habds with everyone there and kiss my friend. It was awesome. He was such a humble guy and peasceful. THANKS EDDIE FOR AN INCREDIBLE NIGHT IN PITTSBURGH!!!

    I'm so glad you posted!!!!
My husband and I were the first two in the line up when Eddie got out. I still feel like I'm dreaming, what an incredible moment!!! SO SWEET, but SOOO FAST... I keep telling my husband I wish I could watch the whole scenario happen again because it was so surreal at the time. Did you happen to catch a pic of him??? Security stopped us, which was fine, but DAMN I wish we could have captured any one moment on film. Eddie was F'N FANTASTIC!!!! I have loved PJ from the beginning and that moment ranks up there with the birth of our kids :-)

I thought the show was GREAT !

In Hiding, Man of the Hour, and Garden were the highlights for me !

Here we go Steelers Chants, AND Pearl Jam all in one night.... I think I may have dreamed the whole thing ;-) too good to be true....

McCready's Hendrix-esque rendition of the national anthem was wayyy cool too. Took on particular interesting meaning given the theme of the new album... I thought it was a pretty dramatic statement....

Ed Line of the night "Looks like we have alot of creative rich fuckers here tonight" in response to the light show being put on by the folks in the luxury boxes....

Had a blast meeting everyone at the CCFA Pre-show and aftershow parties... Special thanks to FoxyMop and the whole gang of CCFA volunteers for doing the amazing work that they do !

    Yes it is.........
  • Now we can be appreciative of the fact that the band actually bootlegs all of their shows and we get the opportunity to take more than just a t-shirt home with us... the boot is up... took a day longer... big deal, the show was still f'ing great.
