My 1st PJ Show, and it was everything I could have imagined!!!

The setlist was sooo good, only things I wish they would have played are Unemployable and Given to fly...

I was going crazy... it was so amazing! When Ed played throw your arms around me, me and my girl danced, and when they played Better Man, pittsburgh's voice was amazing.

I'm so happy. It was such a great show.

  • i just got home and i am dead tired from beingo nm y feet and jumping like a madwoman all night long..i will post my full fanview tomorrow...all i have to say is..AMAZING. its only my fourth show but i always say each one is the best i've been too...but this may have been, simply for the crowd and the unbelievable energy of the band...at the end, they just lingered around, playing Yellow Ledbetter after an amazing RITFW, both with the house lights on...then hung around on the stage bowing after that. pittsburgh LOVES pearl jam, and pearl jam loves pittsburgh from what eddie said tonight and has said in the past...it was an amazing show!!!

It seems like every time I hear Black live it’s always better than the last time.
Tonight it wouldn’t be any different. The band jammed the shit out of it and the crowd responded. People were wiping away tears in the end. At the end of the song Ed gave Stone a hug from behind and whispered something into his ear. Ed than reminded us that Stone wrote Black and the next song Alive. Very Cool.

  • The set just fuckin rocked. Maybe a few too many classics but the crowd was so loud and into it which made it awesome. In hiding and marker made the show for me. The threesome of go why go and comatose had the place shaking. Much better sound and crowd than NJ2.

the interaction between the crowd and the band tonight was intense.

even if they played all the hits....it was still "special" to those of us who were actually there.

Like the guy before, I had to work.

First PJ show in Pittsburgh I've missed in nine years. Figures they play Garden and Why Go...

I hope everyone enjoyed it, and I'll be there next time!

My first show, and it was everything I had dreamt of and more. Honestly, there is nothing in the world like seeing your favorite band live for the first time. Not that I have to tell you, but it's just amazing. It was like living in a dream. We sat around waiting, and then the house lights came on, and my eyes watered up as they strummed the first notes to Release (one of my favorite songs, and I was praying for it to open my first show). The first set completely FUCKING ROCKED. When they left, my friend goes 'Wow, did they even play one mid-tempo song besides Release?'. It was straight rocking from start to finish. I Got Shit, Garden, Marker In The Sand, Corduroy...all fucking amazing. Porch was fucking sick. I could, honestly, not hear Eddie even sing 'This could be the day...' at the end. Actually, I'm not even sure if he did sing it - the crowd was all I could hear. :D (and didn't want it any other way). Encore was breathtaking. Black and Alive were everything that I imagined they could be. Alive was when I completely lost it...the crowd loved every second of it, and Black made my eyes water (again). The crowd singing the 'Doo-do do' part, and then Eddie getting back up with "We Belong Together" and then something about 'but we'll always be apart / i'll love you forever'. Go & Comatose fucking rocked, with Eddie on the floor. And Rockin' In The Free World was insane. The isles were filled with people dancing their asses off, and the rest of us were going nuts, clapping, to a drawn out jammed one. The boys looked like they were having a blast (I WAS!).

Possibly the greatest night of my life, and I don't think anything will ever come close. My first show, and I don't think they can get anybetter (but I'm sure they can :) ). Pittsburgh loves Eddie, and Eddie loves Pittsburgh. A lot of fun stuff he said. Before Worldwide, he goes 'Republicans didn't write this song, but they had a lot to do with it' (something like that). And then he said 'You know, there are a lot of places in the world. I mean, there's Europe, the Islands, and Pittsburgh just isn't our favorite place in the world. (booing) However, it's like #3. And one of our favorite places to play. Can't wait to do this again'. Then he said "You know, it's the leg opener. And I don't want to talk politics. Let's talk baseball...(then he went into politics, and something about if we vote for Jason Baye (?) then they'll just have to come back and play in Pittsburgh again next year. :D ). Favorite quote, though, was Eddie saying "So I walked in this afternoon, and I was like this is a really nice place you got here. And the guy next to me goes 'It's getting torn down next year' and I was like well fuck.'

Wow. This was my ninth show and probably the best. Great set. Finally got to hear Garden live. The crowd was very vocal but didn't seem to move all that much. Maybe it's just me. Oh, and I believe I started the first "Here we go Steelers" chant after Ed said Pittsburgh wasn't on of their favorite cities. It had to be done. Great show. I can't believe I still have my voice!

I have 338xxx, and I was 30 rows back on the floor, Mikes side. I had trouble seeing at times, but luckily I had a clear path, and could see Eddie/Jeff/Matt perfectly (and Stone when he was there). Had trouble seeing Mike unless I dodged. Not dissapointed, but I was really hoping for side seating (I would have sat 6th row/side for Cleveland. FUCK!).

They played one song off of No Code (Smile), and nothing off Binaural & Riot Act. Kind of strange.

See you guys in Pittsburgh next year (according to Eddie)!!!

    I CAN'T FUCKING WAIT.

It was...amazing. Never seen a band so happy to be there. Did anyone else like it when Eddie leaned back on Stone, like that famous poster from the early '90s?

Ed announces that Pittsburgh’s not the bands favorite city and than he doesn’t say anything and he just looks around. I’m looking at the guy next to me like “where’s he going with this one?” The crowd did boo at first and than they start the “way to go Steelers, way to go” chant. I guess Seattle is still hurting.

  • wow, easily the best concert ive ever been to. first time seeing them live for me and it was just unreal. then as soon as i left the concert, we put in a pearl jam cd to listen to on the way home, and now i plan on listening to pearl jam for the rest of the night, maybe even the weekend. and yes, i agree with that other guy it was sweet when eddie leaned on stone like in the old poster.
  • very very close to being as good as Cleveland... crowd was great, just a notch below Cleveland I'd say... upgraded my ten club back of floor tix with a street seller to section 2, great seat, hadn't seen em that close probly since Halloween 93... took a little loss on my extra ticket but well worth it...

some nice nuggets in setlist we didn't get in Cleveland... hearing DTE so early then followed shortly thereafter by In Hiding made it special 4 me, that took vibe to another level... same w/ Garden and I got Id was killer... all the avocado songs really rocked on a high level, crowd sang a lot on those, appreciation continues to deepen for those cuts...

loved Eddie dissing Pittsburgh a little, that made me smile... but like the band, i have long enjoyed catching shows there...

Its not "way to go"....If your from the 'burgh, you'd know its "HERE WE GO"!!!

The show blew the doors off the place!!!

It was like a greatest hits show!!

Garden was un-questionably the coolest shit of the night!!

Alive was felt rockin' a mile away!!!!

Then the closing with "Rockin' in the Free world", "Ledbetter", and then Mike's Nat. Anthem was just AMAZING!!!!

The crowd was off the hook!! I've been to hundreds of concerts, and this one was like everyone got paid a $1000 each to participate.

Simply motivating and an emotional night!!!!!!!!!

  • Random thoughts on Pittsburgh

    My 13th Pearl Jam show.

The one downside. Not the best set. I love nearly every Pearl Jam song, but I thought for a while tonight they were touring for "Ten." In my mind I think of songs by what record they are on, and they skipped a whole era. There were upsides to the set, though. 'Man of the Hour' is such a great song, 'Waiting on a Friend' was awesome with the brief 'Honky Tonk Women' riff at the end. And they could play 'Rockin' in the Free World' every night and I would be thrilled.

    Now the many plusses...

    1. I LOVED the arrangement for 'Garden.' It needs work, but practice makes perfect. I think it will sound really cool once they nail it. Also, I am glad "Why Go" is making a comeback.

    2. Even though he was goofy, I thought Bob Pollard was entertaining. I usually hate openers, but I didn't feel the need to leave when he performed.

    3. Ed was very chatty and very funny tonight. And I agree with him, to all baseball fans, PLEASE vote for Jason Bay. There is still a little time left. His "Pittsburgh isn't our favorite place" speech was funny, too. I do think it is funny that he forgot the sky boxes playing with the lights last time.

    4. Finally, the crowd. To everyone there tonight, you were all awesome!! I have seen about 45 different concerts in my life and I have never been in a crowd close to what this show had.

Well, 2 shows for 2006 have come and gone. Hopefully I get a chance to see them in 2007 to make what I never thought could happen---5 years in a row

To everyone on the west coast and abroad, have a blast at your shows. The band is on fire

This was our third show this tour and I just have to say...WOW! This is the first time I heard them do 'Man of the Hour', so it was great for me. Just sitting in this hotel room, hubby fell asleep already, lol, its 3:47 am, I am too wound up to sleep, thank goodness I brought my laptop. Thank you PJ, thank you to the folks that set up the pre-party, it was great, and thanks to my fellow fans for making this such a killer night. Love & Peace, Rose

That show was ridiculously good! Once I heard the opening notes to Throw Your Arms Around Me I went nuts!!! Highlights for me were In Hiding, SOLAT, and RITFW. And oh yea...to all the people who sat near the back of Floor 7, you guys were freakin intense!!! Also met a bunch of friendly fans who sat around me, easily making this the best show I have seen live!!!

  • haha I loved before or after (?) RITFW when Eddie was saying goodbye and goodnight, he said now he's "going to go ride motorcycles with your friend Ben Rothelisburger" or something like that...
How about that Jason Bay speech?? That was AWESOME! When Eddie said Jason Bay I started yelling VOTE FOR JASON BAY! I couldn't believe Eddie was telling us to vote for our boy for the All Star Game. That was awesome..I thought he'd talk football but he talked about the Buccos...
Ah and I hope one of the 2 Here We Go Steelers chants makes it to the bootleg...one was during the first encore, another was after Eddie said Pittsburgh wasn't their favorite place to play.

    What a show!
EVERYONE on their feet the whole time..what a difference from Cleveland, the other show I went to.

I love hearing that you guys all had so much fun, especially those of you who just saw your first show. I just saw my first one (ER1) 3 weeks ago and am still buzzing about it and felt the same way you guys do - it was the best of the several hundred concerts I've seen in my life BY FAR. I don't know if that would have always been the case or if the combo of the amazing new songs in the setlist plus the band's renewed energy are making 2006 especially kick-ass, but whatever it is, I hope they keep it up and swing back our way in 2007.

It's 7:45am and I just got home from the show. I've been awake for 25 hours - drove 6 hours to pittsburgh - rocked out during the show - and drove back another 6 hours. It's my 3rd show this tour, and let me say it was so worth it! I am still pumped! I had great seats - 15th row dead center. It's the first time I could actually see (I'm only 5'1"). I had the time of my life. The band seemed to be well rested and had great energy. My highlights were Throw Your Arms Around Me (1'st time I've seen it live) and Smile. I really, really loved it!

And let me just say - Pittsburgh is great! I love my hometown and had a great time at both Camden shows, but it's really nice to see a bunch of people rocking out who aren't falling down drunk or vomiting on themselves. You guys rock! :D

OH My GOd what an incredible show. And I had incredible seats 3rd Row Center!! Random thoughts about the show.
Everytime I see them I think They cannot get better and I was wrong again. THey completely rocked last nignt! I thought it was the best version of Porch, Garden and what was that incredible, sexy end to BLACK! that I have ever seen them do. The crowd was amazing (as we always are here in Pittsburgh!). I loved the new songs live!!
Eddie was just amazing last night! It was my daughters first concert and she did not know what to expect. When he came out and starting singing the most beautiful version of Throw Your Arms around ME, she looked and me and goes, "OH my God IS this good" > SHe was hooked.
My favorite funny moment was during a BLISTERING, "Rockin in the free World when Eddie went running to the side of the stage to throw the tamborine, tripped over a cord(which he pulled out of it socket), and hit the floor face first! I was thinking, I hope he's okay. The roadie came running out and they re-plug the cord.
ALl I can SAy is WOWWW! I loved it!

I just arrived home after a LONG wet drive from PItts to NYC. What a show!!! Nice to see that the band relaxed while they were off for a few weeks..... Eddie was chatty and funny.
He mentioned about being back next year.....
I'm not one to start rumors BUT....... I believe that they will swing around and hit the east coast one more time before they end the tour..... (a girl can dream cant she??!!??!!)
Thanks for making it a great show people... my section was so much fun!!!

    See you in Cinci!!!!!

    .

Ed was fucking sweet and yes, Jeff and Stone switched. Smile was definitely one of the highlights for me, first time I've heard that one live. Great show...band seemed to thoroughly enjoy being there. Definitely a top 3 show out of the nine I've been too. Probably the best Pittsburgh show I've seen.
