Pumking was what i had, and you can steer all you want, i'm not trying any more.
Well if you hated Pumking, you may just not like pumpkin beers. To each their own. Drink what you enjoy. There are so many styles out there so there's no point in wasting your time with one you don't enjoy.

just looked it up it's rating

beeradvocate gives it an A- and ratebeer gives it a 98

    i give it an F and a 0

if you like pumpkin beers, drink away...enjoy them, but i'll pass...

i can't remember ever not finishing the first beer of a night, last beer sure, that happens, but never the first beer...not until the pumking showed up in my glass.

    your poor palate!

i will say, southern tier is pretty pumpkiny compared to some others though. brooklyn brewer's post road pumpkin is real good and not quite as pumpkiny as the one you had. its lighter...less alcohol too.

  • I really like pumpkin beers but I do think Pumpking is too much. Dogfish's Punkin is probably my favorite, and I plan on having one tonight.

I just bought a 6 pack of Bell's White Winter Ale last night. That is some really good stuff.

I get at least one case of DFH Punkin every year. Still my favorite seasonal beer.

  • I think I'm ready to turn the page on the pumpkin beers for the year.

I'm having a few SN Tumblers tonight, but looking forward to obtaining SN Celebration Ale in the next few weeks.

We have been loving the Anchor beers. They make there way up the West Coast and into Alberta. I love the Steam Ale and last year enjoyed the Christmas beer. We tried Humming this weekend. I like the Steam Ale better.

Just bought tickets to a Weyerbacher 5 course beer dinner. 5 beers, 5 courses made with that beer. Looking forward to it, although one of the beers is Blithering Idiot.... might skip that course!

Celebration is one of my favorite seasonal beers. I'm really looking forward to that one and Anchor's Our Special Ale.
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.
  • Just bought a bottle of DFH's Hellhound. Never had it before, I can't wait to try it.

I went in the specialty beer place near us the other day just to browse and I was very confused by all the odd names. If they put a word like "Ignorant", "bastard", "wicked" in the name, does it make it better?

What happened to good old Blatz. We would get that for $5 a case back in college.
  • Alright kids, what should I drink this weekend?

Fingers crossed, I'll have a bottle of PJ20 ale to hoist, but I need recommendations.
