Back on point...(far be it for me to stray), I went to college with a guy who put ketchup on basically everything. And I mean everything....he would put it on chicken, mashed potatoes, can't recall a meal where he didn't put ketchup on whatever he was eating...and one night the dining hall served roast pork and he had the audacity to tell me I was weird for putting pepper on pork.

I couldn't put ketchup on chicken...that's beacuse I put yellow mustard on that. :-?

 I love that this thread is 5 pages long! I prefer condiments with my food, but I've never tried ketchup on steak. Now ketchup on pork chops, yessir!

I think your fiance did you a huge favor by not letting you use it in front of the big wigs. You owe her one!

Don't like Ketchup or Steak Sauce with steak.

If the Steak is dry and overcooked I'll use a little BBQ sauce.

A good steak only needs either dry seasonings or a nice Marinade.

Although I do only eat hard shell beef tacos with ketchup . . . soft shelled tacos get hot sauce.
    NERDS!
  • When me and my wife first started dating, the first time we went somewhere to get steak we both put ketchup on it. The funny part though is that she immediately tells me that her dad had told her years earlier that if she was ever out on a date and put ketchup on her steak, that the guy would think she was nuts and never go out with her again.

While her dad was obviously being a bit over-dramatic, it was still fun to have her tell him the story and that I liked ketchup on my steak as well.

However, we have both been known to mix ketchup and A-1 from time to time.
