a good steak does not need anything added to it...especially ketchup.

  • Ketchup on a hot dog???
Thats a fucking sin in Chicago.......

It's like Michael Wilbon once said, "Never trust a man who puts ketchup on a hot dog".

    Here are the acceptable condiments:

    Mustard
    Relish (or maybe pickle)
    Sauerkraut
    Onion
    Jalepeno
    Chili (with onion and cheese)

t's just a matter of taste though, and often regional. I saw on Food Network that in South America, or parts of it, a hot dog is often covered in coleslaw and crumbled up potato chips. The idea of ketchup on a hot dog makes me cringe though.

How the hell is mustard okay and ketchup not? That's a much bigger crime against humanity!

Ketchup and steak? Sounds awful. Just make a good steak instead and put a little drop of butter on at the end.

I always liked ketchup til I quit using it on most stuff I would always put it on. To me it's just salt in tomato goo form. My grandma does jar some that I'll use occasionally for certain things, but for the most part I'll opt for another condiment or just go plain.

the only thing ketchup is good for is fries.

burgers are okay too. though i usually go just a lil bit ketchup, lil bit mayo, lil but yellow mustard on burgers.

sometimes i can see ketchup for pierogies too. sometimes.

steaks and hot dogs is just crazy talk though

Yeah. This one I'm really having trouble understanding. I mean I get everyone who says that steak is a fine cut of meat and why ruin it blah blah blah...I get that. But to somehow say mustard and just about every condiment known to man is ok on a hotdog but ketchup is not I just can't get. Hot dogs are lips and ass people!!:lol:

Mayo on a burger = burger fail

No way. I've started doing this. I put it on the bottom bun, then I put the burger on top. Then hot sauce, onions, mustard, ketchup, tomato and topped with a pickle(or 2). Sometimes cheese; sometimes lettuce.

I think I got the idea from Harvey's. They put mayo on their original. Best fast food burger I've had.

what kind of establishment are you eating at? how can people across the room see your plate?

do you always feel like you are being watched?

    :)

no seriously, I like KETCHUP on my well done leathery steak. but I'm a hick. I was born in the South and now I live in a rural area in central MD. That could explain it.

I don't feel like anyone's watching me but if I'm with a group someone will always get on their meat soapbox and tell me how bad steak with ketchup is. I can usually shut them up the moment I see them reaching for the steak sauce. :)
