    and its looks like we will be making a runner to fetch my girlfriend's mother unit tonight. Her mother is visiting her sister in Connecticut and was to be here next week when we travel to PJ20.

    Commuter transit systems in New York, New Jersey and outside Philadelphia will shut down services because of Hurricane Irene.

    New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo says public transportation in New York City will shut down at about noon on Saturday. According to the governor's office, the Metropolitan Transit Authority will institute a system-wide shutdown when subways and buses begin their final runs starting at approximately noon.

    The shutdown will include the Long Island Rail Road, Metro-North Railroad and Access-A-Ride. The last complete shutdown of the system was for a 2005 strike.

    New Jersey Transit trains also will stop running at noon Saturday. Gov. Chris Christie made the announcement during a briefing on the storm Friday.

    In Philadelphia, Mayor Michael Nutter says mass transit in suburban Philadelphia will halt at 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

    my mom finally decided it probably wasnt a wise idea to make the trip to SC on Saturday either. but not based on all my warnings....those that came from others. we must be talking about the same person...right? :lol:

    haha! yeah, now I am not one to panic, but for crying out loud if you know there is a big possibilty that a hurricane will be where you are planning on going, why the hell would you insist on going! This thing is no joke.

    Gotta stop by the marina after work to get my cousins Boston whaler out of the water. He's suppose to fly to Germany tomorrow night..... Fat chance

    He also had a flight the same day after that massive snow storm after this past Xmas ..... Didn't happen, had to drive to Florida

    He's batting a 1.000 lately :)
