    Well, I know that I'm pretty much a total stranger to you...but as a fellow fan of the coolest band ever, I do want to wish you lots of luck and good karma with your treatment. You sound like a positive yet practical guy, and I wish you all the best.

    And by the way, you are not 'old'. I'm in my mid-40's myself...and am of the firm belief that 'old' is all in how you approach life. And you don't 'sound' old to me!

    Feeling there is mutual. Age is a state of mind. I'm sure there will be times where you'll feel as old as hell but hey, I do every Monday morning. Keep that positive mental attitude and don't neglect that inner child that lurks inside everyone. Laugh and have fun when you can and know we're all out here rooting for you.

    DURP's message, and all the others here, have been so strong..and I am with you, too. I just reviewed this thread again and I saw your pic of your port...my mom was diagnosed with lung cancer in 06--she went through a year of chemo and radiation, and her cancer has (thankfully!!) been in remission now for a little over 5 years...she now has a spot on one of her ovaries which they discovered on a routine CT a few weeks ago...but it is not nearly confirmed as it being a recurrence......and, your screen name says it all: 'imalive'!!!!!!! Live every day to the fullest...and I send thoughts and prayers to you and your family for a rapid resolution to your plight, and for you to make the most of every day (as I do for anyone, regardless of health status). Your port looks good....and my mom still has hers flushed every 6 weeks..and she's had it for almost 6 years. You may not always need it. :) love and hugs. xo

    I had my first radiation yesterday. It's now a five days a week thing. My first bag of chemo runs out today and I have to go get resupplied. I am happy to report I'm feeling NO ill effects from a week of chemo or the first day of radiation :mrgreen: . The crappy bag and pouch they gave me for the chemo pump has been replaced with this:

    it's an insulated water bottle holder I found for 10 bucks at REI. amazing how the little things can make a difference!

    last week, my wife had a couple friends come up for the U2 concert. These gals brought "care packages" (i.e. baked goods) for me from just about all of my wife's girlfriends. These same girls sent me flowers earlier. Meanwhile, my guy friends have yet to send a card or ANYTHING. My wife's friend said "that's just how women are. Guys would say 'I'll drink a beer for you, bro.' " so true, so true :lol::lol::lol:

    The new pouch looks spiffy. I've known a few people who had to carry infusion packs and they had kind of "serious" looking ones, like they were carrying some sort of business accessory.

    I've missed you around here and was happy when I saw you had posted. However, I must say I wasn't happy to read what's been keeping you away from here. It was almost like you moved to SLC and then quit PJ. Please know you and your wife are in my thoughts. When we met, you sure seemed like the kind of guy that would fight for what you wanted (I say that in the kindest, gentlest way) so I have no doubt you are going to kick this and be back on top in no time. **Hugs**.
