I saw a user-created list on imdb over the weekend, of the 107 best sci-fi and post-apolcalyptic movies of all time....I ended up getting like a half dozen of these movies and watched a few....
A Boy and His Dog was ranked #1....I went to watch the trailer on youtube, and the whole movie was there...so I decided to skip that one

But I did watch 3 others - Surrogates with Bruce Willis (decent, nothing too special)...Sunshine - liked this one - I'm a fan of Danny Boyle but had not even heard of this movie...and I watched Knowing with Nic Cage, which I thought was an awesome show!

I still have Moon, Equilibrium, and Dark City to watch from the list.
Equilibrium was cool. I think that's the one with Christian Bale.

There is a Christian Bale SciFi movie i havent scene? Oh My!!!

ya, the write ups said that Moon was a GREAT movie, and it was very well reviewed on imdb - looking forward to it...Equilibrium is billed as more of a thinking-man's Matrix with less fx....reviews say it's better than the Matrix.

Yeah that movie was crazy. To me, it seemed like "Fight Club" but with Christian Bale.

  • Moon is excellent. Dark City is an aquired taste I think, but worth checking out.

I think I am going to rent that one, sounds like just my style...btw, my husband is a machinist by trade... :shifty:
Lots of love, light and hugs to you all!
  • The most recent movie I watched was Social Network on DVD. I thought it was really good and it helped that it closed with "Baby You're a Rich Man" by The Beatles (that always earns bonus points with me). We don't get to go out to the movies a lot, so we watch things when they come around on DVD. However, we took our son to see Rango on spring break, it was ok.

Edit: To the discussion about The Machinist, that is a great movie. A lot of Christian Bale movies are really good.
    Hearts and thoughts they fade....
    fade away...

I am at peace with my lust.....for Eddie.

The Machinist was a phenomenal movie. Very messed up, but really good. One of Bale's best besides American Psycho (my fav). Just watched Let Me In remake, just ok. some good scenes. The Social Network is on the coffee table waiting to be watched this weekend

Source Code was entertaining enough ... fairly predictable ... not sure it's a 90% on RT tho ...
