1st qtr of the year was aweful for movies. may has seen a pick up, but still none really appeal to me. i'm not really looking forward to anything this season.

Q1 definitely awful ... thor was actually pretty good ... the only films i'm looking forward to are HP7-2 and tree of life ...

Tree of Life is gonna be Heavy, but then again, it's about a deep subject.... 'Truth'/'Reality', Nature of... :ugeek: .

Kung Fu Panda 2 highly recommend it. Started out kinda slow for me but half way through I was totally into it. Had some teary eyed moments as well as some funny ones as well. And judging from the end I'm guessing they are gonna do a third one.

We saw it yesterday and we really I enjoyed it. I would recommend it as well. Another plus for me was that it was only about an hour and half long which means we didn't spend the whole afternoon in the movie theater.

No, I hate 3-D. My husband, son, and I all come out of 3-D movies with headaches. The last one we saw was Alice in Wonderland and after that we swore off 3-D movies. After seeing Kung Fu Panda, I can't imagine how 3-D could enhance it that much.

I saw Avatar last year on my birthday and I had the biggest headache after the movie. 3-D is too hyped up and not that great at all.

Yeah, the last 3D movie I saw gave me a headache (but it was a SAW movie),But sometimes everything's smooth, Like I thought Avatar was nice in 3D. So was 'Christmas Carol' with Jim Carey, the 3D was great with that.

Anyway....I thought the original Kung Fu Panda was amazing, one of my favorite movies. Good to hear the sequel was solid...

Last night, we watched Gulliver's Travels. It's a cute movie. I love Jack Black. The scene with the Prince song really made me laugh. :D

Finally saw "The Last Waltz" yesterday with my dad. He had seen parts of it, I had never seen the movie before. I liked it, especially the end.

It was on Encore mystery so i watched part of it. Only caught the beginning and end. Besides Charlie Sheen, also stars Henry Rollins and also Anthony Kiedis and Flea have cameos. Wasn't good but the role fit him pretty good  Also not bad soundtrack with Rollins Band, Offspring, NOFX, Bad Religion and Rancid

Saw it the other night. Not really too good. It was ok, too long and some stuff i didn't care for at all like the mermaid/religious guy love connection. Also the ending was kinda weak and predictable.

I'm looking forward to the X-Men movie, will probably see that tom. night.

netflix went down my list a little ways this week and sent me Piranha. Wow. that's about the only word I can think of to describe it. I enjoyed it because I like that kind of crap. My wife made it through the whole thing. I kept asking her why she just won't go to bed if she was supposedly hating it, but she kept saying it was like a train wreck and she couldn't look away :D I give this one a solid 4 out of 5 stars.

    saw:
The Runaways: renewed respect for joan jett; like Kristen Stewart but am quickly tiring of her blinking, frustrated, not-sure-if-I-should-speak, self-conscious acting style; dakota fanning was fabulous.
    The Proposal: cute, watchable once.

    This weeks viewing...

"Biutiful" - Good but incredibly depressing and a bit overrated.
    "Black Death" - AWWWWWWWFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUULLLLLLLL!
"Casino Jack" - Pretty entertaining. As always, Spacey is good and Jon Lovitz finally finds a charecter in a feature film that suits him to a tee.

saw super 8 and bridesmaids on the weekend.

bridesmaids was funny, lot of swearing and a c-bomb if that sort of stuff offends you.

super 8 - meh, it would appear that J.J.Abrams guy can only make one movie, this was cloverfield set in the 70s, and there is a cloverfield sequel coming out soon too. he needs some new ideas.

The Rite. Good acting for a storyline that is usually overacted pretty frequently. Thought the main character is someone's brother on this board? Did I read that somewhere? Anyways, the whole exorcism thing gets done every now and then, but i thought this one was not overdone, and Hopkins was great as always.

    True Grit
Great movie, and I usually hate westers. Jeff Daniels was incredible, Matt Damon not so much. And too much killing of horses too. Recommended though, lots of funny moments, tear jerker at the end.

Saw "The Messenger" recently. It's definitely not a happy film, but the acting is excellent and it's a different side to the horrors of war that you typically don't see or think much about. P

Super8: C+, was OK.. I expected more, but then again Spielberg and Abrams havent impressed me in a long time.
