The unemployment rate is now at its lowest point since April 2009. It's been falling for three months, down from 9.8 percent in November, marking the sharpest three-month drop since 1983.
Didn't something change last November? Could it be? Nah ... ... ... :shh:
Enjoy and have a good weekend.

Which one, Obama's or Dubya's?
Dubya's was a bailout. Not a stimulus."First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win ."

The Republicans will take all the credit (and if you ever have a conversation with someone who attempts this, walk away). Because, as we know, the benefits of the extension of the Bush Tax Cuts are instantaneous. This fits in line with our instant gratification culture. Can you imagine a 5 year plan being initiated, or better yet, proposed here? The backlash would be amazing.0 -
unsung I stopped by on March 7 2024. First time in many years, had to update payment info. Hope all is well. Politicians suck. Bye. Posts: 9,487Keep trumping this.
In the meantime we are still gridlocked in two wars, and now participating in a third. Spending remains out of control. But people celebrate because unemployment is under 9%, even though that number is probably lower than actual because many have simply given up. Get the real number back to 5% and get us out of those costly wars, then celebrate. Until then STFU and stop making me sick.0 -
To bad this news isn't actually applicable to the U6 report, otherwise known as the real unemployment rate. Real Unemployment is still quite a bit higher than 8%.0

Haha. What a deep, intelligent comment: "we have an idiot in the White House." The problem is that we have stupid in middle America, in the South, in the West, in the Northeast, hell we're just a stupid society; one who sits back and watches while millionaires are protected, Corporate Welfare is the new norm, and teachers and public workers get punished, because, as we all know, the cause of the economic crisis were those who work their asses off as the foundation of our society: teachers, policeman, fireman, etc. It is all their fault, not Wall Street's. And yet, middle Americans, those in the dwindling middle class, still align themselves with the Right? What sense does that make? Whose side is the Right on? Who implemented a stimulus to create infrastructure jobs? To create jobs for high-speed rails so we can catch up with the rest of the world? To put money toward education-another area we are seriously lagging behind in? Not the Right. (And, if you do not know what the Stimulus is, then shut up and don't reply. I am sick and tired of idiots saying, "the Stimulus didn't work" without even knowing what it is. But, I do not expect much from an uneducated, disengaged, intellectually lazy society). There are so many things that could, should be done right now, and the Right has brainwashed society, or a portion of it, into following their ludicrous ideologies. It is sad. Very, very, sad. 2001-2009 was a utopia, obviously, so let's go ahead and continue the philosophy of the Right. Oh wait, I may be wrong, we all know that Jesus is a gun-toting, overall-wearing, pickup driving, redneck Republican Conservative. It's amazing how the Right also uses religion. I have to give them credit. This idiotic American society that is stuck in the Stone Age in so many ways, still follows the fairy tale of Christianity. Greek Mythology is wrong, and laughable, Islam is ridiculous, but Christianity is right. Religion is a plague on this country and on humanity.
But again, "we have an idiot in the White House." It amazes me, the ego on people. If 90% of the people on this board were President, we would be out of Iraq and Afghanistan, unemployment would be 3%, our education system would be #1 in the world, marijuana would be legal, Corporate America would be held accountable, and on and and and on................
I would love to see the author of that comment stand toe to toe with Obama. That would be laughable. It would almost be as funny as a society stupid enough to believe in fairy tales and a 2,000 year old book of fiction. Almost.Post edited by whygohome on0 -
