I don't think much can be done yet, except hopefully more checks on uncontrolled spending. We should see more results like yesterday in 2012 and then demands can be made for changes.

other than the sour grapes, I agree with you. It is now up to the GOP in the house to solve the issues of the day. They need to not only compromise with democrats and achieve reasonable legislation that will improve the economy, put more money into the private sector, and stop wasteful spending. If those things don't happen, expect more career politicians to lose their seats in primaries two years from now.
If they haven't done anything and they haven't improved anything than they need to be held accountable. And you are right, it is time to own the problems and fix them, not blame the past for the situation that is before the american people.
This is EXACTLY how I like my federal government, full of checks and balances so nothing can get done...so much better than a one party majority in ever chamber.

Yes, it is, especially since they are the cause of most of them, something that seems to have been conveniently forgotten.

But... "Compromise"? "Reasonable"?! Republicans?! Dream on. Get ready for two years of spiteful obstructionism and a return to the politics of disinformation and fearmongering.

yes, magically create jobs, cut "discretionary" spending, cut taxes yet still fund defense.

get the country going in the right direction. save us from the obama menace.

i am waiting to see how the new house is going to try to cut unemployment benefits and dismiss it as "an entitlement program" while there are no jobs being created and the unemployment rate stays the same or increases...nothing like unemployed voters cutting off their own heads...

i think i am just going to sit back and watch the spectacle as no meaningful legislation gets passed for the next 2 years.. where is my popcorn?

clearly you are angry, who's fault do you think it is that the democrats lost as many seats as they did?

here is how I see it, when you run on a platform that at its most basic says "chicken in every pot paid for by the rich" people get angry. They get angry that you want to take from them to give to someone else, and they get angry when the chicken doesn't show up...and we are an impatient bunch here. Right or wrong, it is the dems fault they are in this spot. Pushing blame never works. If they take ownership and are upfront with the American people I think they probably would have been fine through this mid term, they only have themselves to blame for horrible strategy. They will get it figured out though, I am sure that the 2012 elections won't be nearly as damaging, like I said...we are an impatient bunch.
