Congrats to the Phillies and their fans.

It sucks, but that deal they published today was a little much for my liking. 6 or 7 years for $160 million. I am kind of glad he didn't take it. And to leave that much money on the table, he must have really wanted to go there.

And at least he isn't a Yankee. So there is that. :)

They said Rangers fans might actually be a little bit relieved....

Did the Yankees ever NOT get someone they wanted?

    I am still in shock....

Yeah, disappointed, but relieved if you can be both. Like a break-up. Sad, but time to move on. :D

Actually, I wish we had known about that Phillies offer. Its just so weird to turn down that much money. And weird for them to keep it quiet and let the other two teams duke it out. Why didn't they just sign it a few days ago? At least no one can say it was all about the money.

This also makes me happy because ESPN and the others have egg on their face. They swore for months that he was going to be a Yankee.

    Attention Phillies Fans!!

Cliff Lee is not a great pitcher! He was good two years ago!

    The End

****** Please. Just enjoy your fluke championship before your team crashes to 80 wins next year. :D

Well, that was some nice news to wake up to. 8-)

Let's thank those nice idiots from NY for chasing Mrs. Lee away. Funny thing is I could see idiot Phillies fans doing the same thing.

And R2C2 is gay, Im sorry. Saw Marshall Harris try nd start that on CSN. And anything Urkel starts I can't be a fan of.

Just call them the Muhammed Ali equivalent of a pitching staff. Hit ya with the right then the left then the right then the left. This is crazy.

that tool probably stole it from someone on his facebook home page. i love it

tough not to walk around without a huge smile on my face today.

how great is the sports scene in this city right now? phillies are loading up again...birds are surging towards the playoffs...flyers are apparently great again....sixers...sixers, well they're slowly moving in the right direction.

3 out of 4 ain't too bad. 3 teams have a legit shot at a title in the near future.

    golden years, anyone?

I remember a time not long ago when players didn't even want to play here let alone come here when there is more money on the table somewhere else

    This is just unbe-LEE-vable

He's not a douche, but I just don't understand why you can't put the tickets on a credit card or something. You'll get the money back and more, and get playoff tixx. It's going to be impossible to get tixx now.

Other great thing about Lee is more 2 hour games, which should help with bringing a baby to the game and all. :D:lol:

Like overpaying for guys like danny tartabull, gregg jefferies, and andy ashby  . Ah, how far this team has come.

Blanton for Mike Cameron. Ugh. With cameron in the lineup this team will strike out 15 times a game

There saying the Blanton trade might have fallen thru. But if it dosen't at least its a right handed bat.

I think they could get more for him...even though they have zero bargaining power here.
