I was hoping someone wouldn't post something like this. volstad was a sacrificial lamb tonight because there are 3 games in the next 48 hours and the marlins have no pitchers available (they still haven't named a starter for tomorrow).

let's not get carried away. the lineup still stinks

ah the joy of victory and the agony of reading the Fixer try to put it down. gotta love trashing the team with the best record in baseball. negadelphia personified.

Fixer, I love ya man, but come on.

Leaving Hamels in in the 8th was completely reasonable. He was dealing. And the bullpen almost blew a 7-run game this weekend.

I'm glad Howard made his first error of the season in a blowout. After setting the tone with an oppo-boppo in the 1st inning. (now he's gonna talk about the ballpark I bet  )

It's a long season, and a big key is beating up on bad teams, and keeping slumping teams in slumps. We've seen plenty of times that a "sacrificial lamb" (Volstad is a regular member of their rotation) dominated the Phillies lineup, so I'm glad they took care of business.

25-12 at home; 16-14 on road. This team is surprisingly homer-ish this year. Interesting, considering their "offesnsive" ballpark, that their pitchers seem to prefer pitching at home.

i only dislike "opp boppo" because it originated from brett myers a few years ago. i thought it sounded stupid then...but then mccarthy started utilizing it with his home run calls and it sounded even worse.

Trying to get military honors at my grandfather's funeral and we need his discharge papers, which he misplaced, and I've been trying to fax the request for a new one and am getting no where fast.

Well, Brett Myers & Tom McCarthy might be douchebags but I still like oppo-boppo, and you never gave me a replacement term. Sorry dude. :P I'll switch to whatever nifty term you come up with promptly. ;)

it's just that other than chase utley and roy halladay you NEVER say anything positive about anything or anyone on the phils. a blowout win last night and you have to bring up a meaningless error late in the game by ryan howard. it just seems like you sit around and wait for bad things to happen so you can pounce. i admittedly am not a huge fan of chase utley's defense but i at least acknowledge when he does something well defensively like the play he made to end sunday's game. a positive comment once in a while wouldn't kill ya. 8-1 now but i'll come back on when ryan strikes out next time up so i can hear you complain.

What's realistic is that we have the best record in the game, with a mediocre offense thus far. What's also realistic is that a healthy full lineup is pounding the shit out of the ball right now. As well as Howard heating up 7-21 with 9 walks in his last 7 games.

Not sure who's a cheerleader on here? I know i'm a fan of a certain player that u might not be. So if that makes me a cheerleader so be it.
