Oops. Way to make myself sound like an idiot.

Only 5 bench spots? I guess that means a 12-man rotation. Do you need 12 if you only have 6 pitchers you're gonna use in close games anyway? It'd be nice to have Dom Brown for pinch running and the like.

hmm...well they won't need a 4th/5th starter in round 1. but I think they would still keep blanton on the roster as an emergency guy

    halladay
    oswalt
    hamels
    blanton
    lidge
    madson
    durbin
    romero
    contreras
    bastardo (yikes)

then you have 2 spots left. 1 would definitely be a pitcher. I guess I could see them taking brown. I wouldn't want to see him in a close game though. He's still raw as hell. I'd take dobbs over brown, even though it pains me to say that.

I'd probably take Dobbs too because I want two lefty's on my bench and, like you said, his versatility. But, I'd like to put Brown on there, but with his vast layoff that's too big of a spot to put him in.

brown's speed as a pinch runner is invaluable too. i woudl like to see him on the post season roster.

post season roster. i love it!

    dobbs versatility > brown's speed

can't believe I'm sticking up for dobbs

I know. Dude's been in purgatory since July. Sucks that gun to their heads they might have to put him on there.

It's funny how the Philly media always makes a mountain out of a molehill. On DNL they're talking about how Doc's ERA is 4.41 over his last 5 starts. Unbelievable. I remember last year around this time Halladay struggled then BAM went to another gear again. No matter what the scenario, Halladay is my game 7 starter all the time, every time.

AND the snag they're talking about, he only gave up 3 runs. Ridiculous. And what they should be talking about is how he gets better with runners in scoring position. Ridiculously good.

the only thing I worry about with halladay is his workload. all those 8-0 games the dufus manager left him in throughout the year may be catching up with him a little bit.

The quicker they wrap this up, the less that's an issue. Wrap it up in the next week, rest your peoples, set up the rotation accordingly. Then watch three headed Godzilla eat the shit out of the playoffs.

New place is real nice. But they got a new manager and I feel like they're dickin me around. Honestly don't know if I'm working there anymore. Kinda sucks, but whatever.

And because of that, I don't even know if I'll be making it down to Irish Weekend. Which really sucks, haven't missed one in the last 8 years.

By the way, if you ever wanna check out a place in the middle of no where and has awesome beer, then check out Union Jacks on the Manatawney in Boyertown. Going there tonight for their tapping of Dogfish Head's 75 min IPA. Gonna be a good night.

Gotta beat the teams you play. You guys haven't minded those 11 wins over the Orioles.
