I don't care what anyone says, but this is my Top 5 and its mostly based on re-watchability, sentimental value, and, well, pure genius. There's only two movies on here that aren't comedies....

    1. Jaws
    2. Big Lebowski
    3. Ghostbusters
    4. City of God(if you haven't seen this, then you are a sucker)
    5. Back To The Future

I've never heard of City of God either. man, I stink. Tough for me to pick a top 5

    1 - Swingers
    2 - Pulp Fiction
    3 - Fight Club
    4 - Good Will Hunting
    5 - Shawshank Redemption

    If we're talking comedies

    1 - Caddyshack
    2 - Bull Durham
    3 - Anchorman
    4 - Borat
    5 - Office Space

Cliff, thanks for posting that. Just spent the last 5 minutes smiling watching that.

Spike Lee's best work was 'Do The Right Thing' then 25th.

Always remind me of this scene he did...

its amazing that different people can have such differing views about movies though. the very thing you guys seem to love about it is the thing i couldn't stand.

    Exactly.

What did you think of "Blow"? Specifically, the scene where the daughter goes to visit George in jail?

Not gonna lie - as a grown man, I was on the brink of tears.

I've never seen the entire movie Blow either. only bits and pieces.

The mom in Almost Famous is so annoying. and they should have chosen a sluttier chick to play penny flame. Good movie though

Frances McDormand. Great actress. Huge fan of Cameron Crowe, but I'm guessing that's not hard to get an agreement in this certain band's forums.

And I love Zooey Daschunel. Just throwing that out there.

    Boooooooooooooo.

I'm a huge Paul Rheubens fan. Pee Wee's Big Adventure is a movie I'll watch whenever it's on. Yeah, I said it. Just like Ghostbusters, it's chock full of material that kids and adults can appreciate.

Ya see, I'm a bit of a weirdo.

I think it was. I think Fixer mentioned it.

Another rotation movie which I quote-drop 24/7. I was Robert Goulet for Halloween one year. Followed the next year up with Burgundy. Then just used the same outfit for the next year when we were the dudes in the Bill Brasky skit. TA BILLLLLL BRASKY.

What about snatch and lock stock...?

Anchorman is awesome. I love old school too
  • Deep South Philly Posts: 17,519
Lock Stock and Snatch are solid.

Then there's American History X, American Beauty, Reservoir Dogs, Fast Times, and a personal fave of mine that I know for a fact is a polar issue with some people, and that's Dirty Work.
