Newbie alert?
pearljammer555, this thread is "stuck" to the top of the list, which means that no matter how long it's been since a response, it's not going anywhere.
And no new news to report.
Keep the faith.
Over Thanksgiving weekend, I went to the movie theater which is in that same complex as Ugly Tuna Saloona (the bar where Brian was last seen.) I rode that same escalator where he was last captured on video.
He was in my thoughts that day.
(And if you ask, I saw American Gangster.)Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"0 -

Thanks for the update, LIO.
Did you go inside the bar?
I know it sounds creepy and probably not right, but I'd go inside and try to see how it could have happened that night with different scenarios.
Anyway, thanks for sharing!
The Brian Shaffer Missing T-Shirt that I had made is fading. :(
I got to order another one in the near future...
Anyway, I searched for any updates online and this is what I got as of November 28, 2007 from http://www.lancastereaglegazette.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071128/UPDATES01/71128004
Search for Shaffer continues Dec. 8
COLUMBUS — The search for Brian Shaffer will continue on Dec. 8 when Shaffer’s family and a search group from Texas get together in Columbus.
Shaffer grew up in Baltimore and went to Pickerington High School. He has been missing since April 1, 2006 when he disappeared from the Ohio State campus area.
Volunteers are needed to help with the search. If interested, call 614-645-8477 (TIPS) to sign up to help.
Hope those of you who live near or inside the city can help out? I think it would really comfort the father with some PJ fans around, knowing that Brain loved PJ so much.
Just a suggestion, that's all.JA: Why do I get the Ticketmaster question?
EV: It's your band.

Never give up hope!
Not sure if you guys saw the story about a guy from the UK a couple of days ago?
He had been missing for five years. All he could remember was his name.
He went missing after a kayaking accident. It was in the news here in Sweden yesterday.
I really do hope and pray that they find Brian. Even though I don't know him, he seems like a great bloke.
Good luck to all on the 8th..0 -
The search that was scheduled for Saturday, December 8th has been cancelled. This was necessary due to unforeseen illness in the Texas EquuSearch team and scheduling conflicts. Please continue to keep Brian and his family in your prayers.

Um, is it really that big of a hassle for you? It's a sticky because people have been following this case since he went missing, and even Pearl Jam has made mention of it at concerts. I'd like to think that your having to scroll down an extra half-inch is somewhat less of a problem than what those who are worrying about Brian are experiencing.0 -

Yeah, that extra roll on the mouse to go past this sticky really chaps my ass too.

didn't mean to be disrespectful, just something that kind of bothered my ocd. sorryPJ: Hartford 6/27/08 Mansfield 6/30/08 Philly 3 Oct. 30 2009

There's 10 stickys.
You realize how incredibly inconsiderate it is to post something like that, right? If you were missing would you want your family and loved ones to just call it all off at 2 years? Theres plenty of examples of people being found alive and well after being missing for longer than that.
If theres a chance the thread will help find this guy, leave until they get some answers. What's the inconvenience to you or any of us?
What's more important here - The possibility of these people getting answers (or at least some help) by leaving this thread up as a sticky, or your desire to not have to scroll down the page to read the newest thread?
If nothing else the thread provides some support for the people looking for him.0 -
wilmack88 wrote:didn't mean to be disrespectful, just something that kind of bothered my ocd. sorry
Obessive compulsive disorder? Well, put that aside and think about how deeply saddened this guy's family members and girlfriend are. This is an urgent situation and I think it's good that it's a sticky, dammit.0 -
Let's not attack each other here...wilmack88 apologized.
I'll tell you why... Brian's family and friends, including his girlfriend Alexis, do keep tabs on this thread from time to time.
they look at this thread for updates and are happy to see people still thinking about Brian and anything they could come up with.
That was what I was told a long time ago.... yeah a long time ago. :(
As I've mentioned earlier in this thread, I still have my own personal opinions about what happened.
I still stand by those guts feelings I had - that Brian's friends were somehow involved.
Anyway.
Another year of holidays gone by and missed by for Brian and his loved ones.
I'm glad to see some efforts continue on this case such as searching team from Texas, even though it was cancelled.
Lost In Ohio is pretty good at keeping us updated.
Pearl Jam fans are the best in the world where they look out for each other, like a family.
That is why this sticky stays on.JA: Why do I get the Ticketmaster question?

This is all from Alexis's MySpace blog, dated December 11th, 2007.
First of all: Brian. Unfortunately, no news. We did have the search with EquuSearch a few months ago, which came of nothing. There was supposed to be another search this past weekend, but due to the group's schedule and other issues, it was canceled. I had dinner with Brian's dad on Saturday instead, and we had a chance to chat about everything which was nice. For his dad, there was a little bit of relief as he didn't particularly want to find anything bad before Christmas. Brian's story continues to run occasionally on E! as I still receive messages from people which is very nice. As always, all the prayers and best wishes we hear can only help! It hit me like a ton of bricks that it's well past a year and half the other day, which is just crazy. Please, keep Brian and his family especially in your prayers!
(later on)
Lastly: dating. So, it finally happened. Over a year and a half after Brian disappeared I finally went out on a date with a great guy who my parents already knew, so he already knew about Brian. Which made my life easier, I think. I have continued to see him since then (September) and it's been fun to not be alone all of the time! He has been super nice and very understanding about my reluctance to have things move too quickly. So, we'll see what happens!Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"0 -
Good for her that she has started dating. I can't imagine how difficult that must have been to make the decision to start dating again. It sounds like Alexis is a great person, and I feel awful for everything she and Brian's family have been through.0

Pardon me if I'm missing something, but why would this story be running on E? Is that E, the Entertainment Channel?0 -

it amazes me how people just disappear. There was a couple from Philly that left a bar on South street over a year ago and haven't been seen since. How do you just disappear like that? It's eerie.
I can't imagine what his family and friends are going through.
how do you just disappear like that ?

Lots of love and prayers all around.
Thanks to Iammine for being so involved in this, for sticking with this.
