    it has nothing to do with omar. Its all the coupons and the lack of spending over da years. Look at the moves he made in the early 90's. He signs a buncha overpaid players who do shit. Did the same thing in 01 and se the franchise back years. He doesn't pay drafts picks what they are owed. Look at the moose bidding war between the yanks and mets. Fred didn't wanna pay the moose a million dollars more. Its the same thing with bay and holiday this year.

    So are you guys going to get Bay?

    I'm a Yankees fan, and as such I usually hate the Mets, but now I'm kind of rooting for them for some reason.

    The Mets finally signed their big fish for 4 years and $66mil with what sounds like a fairly easy vesting option for a 5th year.

    I won't get into all the reasons why this is not a good idea since Mets fans have had it so bad recently. Bay is only getting $6 million more from the Mets than he would have from Boston, bet he is kicking himself in the ass for not taking that contract.

    Yankee fan, but...... Jason Bay is a huge PJ fan so he is OK in my book. I think that is why Theo signed him in the first place.

    Still no Mets fans excited? Isn't there someone around these parts named "metsfan"?

    I will say...what a horrible signing. A guy with gigantic holes in his swing, strikes out 150 times a season, absolutely horrendous in the field (playing in Citi Field at that) and health questions...for possibly 5 years and $80 mil...ouch. Should have given up the cash for Holliday.
