that was just unreal. and fascinating. what if Blanco got hurt? Jacobs could have caught, i guess, but not well I would assume. and a pitcher would have gone to the field (Lohse did it and caught a ball, but the Mets were pretty uch out of pitchers and hitters. they may have had to play with 8, I guess...if that's allowed. And what's up with Ryan Franklin? he could only throw 1 inning? When he's the last pitcher? In fact, 3 pitchers for St. louis threw just 1 inning, not counting Lopez. And 2 more threw just 1 1/3rd. Unbelievable that the mets score one run, off an outfielder, and then K-Rod fucking blows it.

Its a lot harder for a hitter to a hit off a position player then a regular pitcher. They don't have a book on them. Look at those pitches being throwing. They were all in the dirt or very slow fastballs. I bet not one pitch by those position players ever clocked 70 mph. I loved when king albert went to the mound and told one of the outfiedlers how throw a curveball. It was a joke when the cards were using position players as pitchers. I would called the game off and giving both teams a win by that point. Manuel out managed larussa(sp) in this game. Manuel was very smart not use his closer until they had a lead and use one of his starting pitchers in the very late innings.

20 innings+6 hours and 53 minutes+ mets win= one of the greatest games I've ever watched

Btw- had the mets lost cause of k-rod it would been typical mets lol

Btw part 2- anyone check out the stats of ike davis. Yea like he really needs more time in the minors . They have him in the minors cause they are cheap fucks.

Using Pelfrey on 2 days rest showed just how desperate and dumb Jerry Manuel is. It's genius use your 2nd best pitcher on 2 days rest in the 15th or whatever game of the year. Metsy your nuts to say he out managed larussa, the cards were not gonna take a chance and hurt a starter for 1 game this yearly in the season.

    yup I did

I had the pizza delivery guy come into my house and put my food on the table just so I couldn't miss any of the game

no using 2 positions players shows how dumb larussa is. Wow big deal he pitched an inning on 2 days rest. What are they wussies. Cy young and walter johnshon used to pitched 9 innings everyday and you didn't hear them getting tommy john surgery

.You'd be the type of manager to pull out his pitcher in a perfect game just cause of 110 pitch count. Also you cant admit that manuel out managed larussa cause manuel is a mets manager. Go ahead and deny that all you but you know what I said is true. Gee use 2 positions players and make yourself look like an idiot or save your closer and also use an ACTUAL pitcher. That's a real hard choice on who was better the manager, right .

Dude it's way to early in the season to be tryn to over use a starting pitcher. Especially when your rotation sucks balls besides Santana and Pelfrey. Larussa didn't wanna take that chance and i don't blame him it was game 15 not game 150. I'd bet you anything if Manuel wasn't worried about his job or the Muts were above 500 he wouldn't of done it. It was a poor decesion by a poor manager who was tryn to save his job. And if Charlie Manuel did it i'd say it was dumb as well.

Let's say just for kicks charlie manuel has jroll pitching the 17th inning of a 0-0 and bam he rips his acl/mcl and is out for season. So the next guy to pitch is howar and bam he breaks his hammy and is out for the season. Are you as a phillies gonna say charlie did the right thing or are you gonna rip him a new ass for making your 2 star players pitch.

Yeah ok  Piss poor try brian. Did u see Pujlos pitching or 2 avg players yesterday? I'm sure if that situation arrived J.Werth or Victorino or Planco would be used way before chase, howard or rollins. Weak weak response i expected something better then that crap seriously.

and what happens if vic and planco where out on the mound and they got injuried. Would you still say its a good move when planco is putting up good numbers so far and when vic is a gold glove fielder or are you gonna rip charlier a new ass.

Shit, I really need to update my game day attire which consists of a Murphy cap and a Beltran shirt or jersey....Ike will probably get a free pass for at least a few games, but I hope Bay gets it good..and enough of the fucking Fixer already and just hit the damn fucking ball..

kinda hard to when the team has choked since 06 and when citi field looks like the polo grounds on the inside and ebbets field on the outside . It is nice to see the coupons make it a mets stadium. Its something that shoulda been done way back when this stadium idea was hatched and not some childhood recreation. Idiot owner. Its the only stadium that honors a past that's been dead and buried for 51 years now. Shit if the coupons wanted so badly to honor the past then they should moved the team to brooklyn. Not like met fans woulda cared.
why i bet this team is beyond me
let me guess you bet them saturday and sunday. Ya jinx. Kidding

Team looks great and I can finally be proud we have guys that have heart and wanna play here unlike delagdo and others of the past. Pagan looks great in the cf and its time to cut the chord on beltran. Guys overated and injured.

I have a heavy hand and mets fans are pretty generous. The organization itself is mediocre. From the front office to the field maintenance guys, shit is done half ass. This is a main reason why we will always be the 2nd fiddle in town. That and we are about 25 championships behind.
