    looks like its the Sox as the only challenge to the Mighty Jays for the title this year

    Our pitching staff is only going to get better. Two of our five Opening Day starters are on the 15 day dl right now, so when they come back up we can get rid of the dead weight in our rotation.

    Pitching? That is our strength. We have Smoltz ready to rumble mid season. And Bucholz waiting in the wings.

    I didn't say that you had bad pitching, but that the blue jays pitching can only get better from this point on.

    My bad. Thought I was quoting someone who said our pitching was going to hit the crapper. I now see it was from a fellow Sox fan aimed eleswhere.

    No I jokingly said your HITTING staff doesn't necessarily strike fear in the hearts of pitchers. It's not bad, but can it carry you to the playoff?

    They're third in the AL in runs scored right now and by year's end, I expect them right around that level ... this isn't the 2004 sluggin' sox where 1 - 9, there isn't a hole in the lineup. But, their offense should be well above average.

    what exactly would the GET for Lugo? He's signed this year and next year at $9M (club option in 2011 ... no thanks) ... no one's going to take him unless the Sox pick up a LARGE portion of his contract.

    Tampa Bay's pitching was phenomenal last night. Boston's...not so much. Matt Garza took the Sox to school. Hopefully the bats will wake up tonight.
