I don't believe I apologised for anything.
Why are you so offended to be called an atheist? Do you believe in God? Yes? Well then your friend has found the same belief as you. No? Well then you're an atheist. Or are you agnostic? In which case your friend may have really found God. Who knows? Who cares, if he's happy.'We're learning songs for baby Jesus' birthday. His mum and dad were Merry and Joseph. He had a bed made of clay and the three kings bought him Gold, Frankenstein and Merv as presents.'

Sometimes she gives me handouts from her church pertaining to my latest drama and there's some good stuff there. She's not forcing it down my throat either.
sounds like the religion i belong to...
Esther's here and she's sick?
hi Esther, now we are all going to be sick, thanks0 -
hey, if they are bugging you and saying that you are going to Hell, just tell them that they are judging you and that should shut them up.
As for what Jeremy1012 said, to me, bite me! I really don't care. I don't claim to be intelligent, at all. I don't think having God in your life is bad. I wish it wasn't so hip to bash religion these days.
I don't go to church, But i did and it gave me great values and i don't see what's wrong with that.
I agree with harmless, Believe or don't believe but why bash your friend for finding something that makes him happy?0 -
What I am sick of....is these dumb ass threads!"I don't believe in PJ fans but I believe there is something, not too sure what." - Thoughts_Arrive0

It's a "discussion" board.

I felt like you were making fun of me by saying "an intelligent answer" in response to my "whatever." I said whatever b/c God or Jesus have been discussed ad nauseum (sp?) on the message pit.9/98, 9/00 - DC, 4/03 - Pitt., 7/03 - Bristow, 10/04 - Reading, 10/05 - Philly, 5/06 - DC, 6/06 - Pitt., 6/08 - Va Beach, 6/08 - DC, 5/10 - Bristow, 10/13 B'more

Exhibit A above.
What exactly is wrong with finding God. Generally, it means that they are trying to live a better life, be kinder to others, more honest, etc.
Even if you don't believe in God, it's pretty difficult to come up with rational reasons to argue against those. The only people we should try to get even with...

I wouldn't mind if one (one
) of my friends suddenly "found god" I would, however, be irritated if he was self-righteous about it, and I think this might be the case here.

ive had friends that were already christian so i thought they already found jesus... but then they mustve found some sortof super jesus because they went from being physically unavailable on sundays to being mentally unavailable 24/7... i honestly dont get it... if youve got this benevolent all-knowing leader, he'd have to have the mindset of a child to expect you to devote every second of everyday to himself... thats selfish... but then people turn it around like im selfish because jesus died for MY sins... one of my friends actually said to me once "do you have any idea how much crucifixion hurts??"... um yah... probably alot... christians :rolleyes:0

I'm not religious, and there are certain aspects of religion that I don't care for, but I don't see why a general belief in God is any reason to be upset.
People who look down on others for believing in God are no different than those who look down on others for not believing in God.
I'm not calling out any poster(certainly not the one I'm quoting from), but this quote from earlier in this thread can be used to describe both of the aforementioned positions. There is nothing more infuriating than a person who patronises you because they think they know something you don't when they could just accept that not everyone thinks the way they do0 -
My ex-husband is a former drug addict and is now a God addict. Obviously it's better to be addicted to God and the bible than drugs, but.... he's creepy and extreme in his beliefs. He doesn't eat animal products because that "gets in the way of my relationship with the Lord." My daughter went with him to a church camp last summer and when she came back I felt like she had been completely brain-washed. Looking in her eyes was like staring into the glass eyes of a doll. I was so scared for her. She has read the bible every day since. My family doesn't go to church or read the bible, so she's the only one of us who does. I told her that she better not get brainwashed this year when she goes to camp and if she does, I won't take her back-to-school clothes shopping.I really screwed that up. I really Schruted it.0

I don't have a problem with people finding god. I have a problem with people trying to make me look for him too.0
