Well you can't just take his Texas years off. He did play 485 out of the 486 games those 3 years. And I was only comparing him to Giambi in the sense that he will be getting 30 million a year when he is 40 and past him prime.

But they had no pitching. And I would bet that he would be a better hitter than Giambi at age 50.

  • you can partially blame ARod for Texas lack of pitching. Arod and Boras thought they should be Asst GM's and pushed the rangers to throw $60+ million at superflop Chan Ho Park shortly after ARod signed with the team. Park is also a Boras client, not surprisingly

Well if Jeter knew how to throw to first. Maybe none of this happens. At least the x-rays were negative. So that's good news.

Yeah, Moose tends to be a bit of a headcase. He doesn't get one call or someone makes an error, he loses it.....big time.

In the big picture, Jeter is listed day to day, so that's good. This lineup needs to be healthy with the way our pitching has been.

Looks like Gino the cement mason buried something else other than the Ortiz jersey in the new Yankee Stadium:

Rasner goes tonight. It would be nice to see another good outing from him.

Duncan is in for "The Golden Thong" tonight. I really wish Joe G. would do this more often.

Nice game by Rasner. Alex got robbed of a homerun by the umps. And now they're starting the process of Joba becoming a starter.

was there any special reason jeter and a-rod were pulled out in the 7th? i'm at work, and the reception on the radio was complete watery shit tonight. i'm guessing because they were up by 8?

  • looks liek Joba is headed to the rotation. from sportsline.com

Yankees pitcher Joba Chamberlain threw two innings of relief in Wednesday's blowout win over the Orioles, raising some eyebrows as to whether the Yankees were beginning to stretch him out for a move into the rotation. Shortly after the game, manager Joe Girardi was asked on the YES Network broadcast if that was the case and he confirmed it. "The process has started, converting Joba to a starter, and tonight was the first [step] of extending him a little bit and we'll continue to do it, getting him up to where he can throw enough pitches," said Girardi. Chamberlain threw 35 pitches Wednesday in two innings, his second highest total of the season. He gave up just one hit, but walked two batters and struck out three.

it's definitely happening, it's going to be a gradual process to build up his arm. there's not a specific timetable so my guess is sometime in the summer.

I'd have to guess that the process will take about a month to a month and a half. If he is not starting by the allstar break he will be in the rotation right after the AS break i would imagine.

I just hope it is not too soon. Obviously they don't want his innings to get too high this year in hopes of avoiding an injury.

Rasner pitched well last night which is great. Glad to see they found their bats.

does this mean the yanks hit the panic button?

good to see a-rod crushing the ball, but still looks far from 100% running out of the box. i felt pain in my leg watching him try and run last night!

So the Yanks are going to be trusting the 7th and 8th inning to LaTroy Hawkins and Kyle Farnsworth?

For all of your sakes, I hope the Yanks don't have a lot of close games this year.
