Doesn't the Earth revolve around the Sun once per year? You can't be saying we enter an ice age every year, right?
Are you saying that the Earth is spinning closer and closer to the Sun? or spinning further and further away?

No. It takes one year. The Earth goes around the Sun once a year. We get the seasons because of the Earth's tilted axis... when the north pole points towards the Sun.. it's Summer here, Winter in Austrailia. The two Equinoxes occur when the axis pole are equidistant from the Sun.
We don't need links to prove this.. all we have to do is look at a calendar.

The earth does orbit the sun once a year and it is elliptical, but the tempurature change occurs annually.

The axis of the earth does change somewhat over long periods of time. Maybe that is what OLS is talking about.

Jeanie, I don't want you to think I'm siding with your opposition here, because I'm certainly NOT doing that .... but I do feel like I have to say something.

People who don't want to get into an argument, or don't want people taking shots at them, don't go to political message boards. OLS knows what the Train is like, and he still comes here. When I don't feel like getting into it with anyone, or having insults hurled at me or whatever, I don't post here, because every time you post there's a chance that will happen. I don't expect anyone to treat me with kid gloves, and while I certainly can't speak for OLS, I can't imagine that he does either. I get tired of being "the sick one" all the time, I like that I can come here and still be treated the same as always, when I'm up for it

It's cool Mom. I get where you're coming from. I guess my only response would be, please don't think I'm endlessly defending OLS blindly, because I'm not. Stupidly sometimes, but never always with blinkers on. He does come here to the train because it distracts him from his illness, keeps him awake when he wants to be here to chat just for some human contact but unfortunately that also means that his head isn't always screwed on right or he doesn't express himself well and he does have a go at people. Which I might add I give him shit for. I certainly understand why that pisses people off and I know he knows that too. This whole thing came up yesterday because he had a good day but pushed himself too far and should have done what I said and GONE TO BED when I told him. But as I'm sure you've noticed he's as stubborn as mule sometimes!
Anyway, as far as I'm concerned it's water under the bridge. He uses this for an outlet, right or wrong, and sometimes people take issue with that, right or wrong. AND SOMETIMES, I stupidly try to protect him when I know that things are particularly bad, right or wrong. I don't really see it as siding with the opposition, I don't really see that there is an opposition. More like things get said, it develops into fisty cuffs and then it's over. Hopefully with a little more understanding on both sides but that's not a prerequisite.

Of course I'm quite sure when he gets back, I'll have some splain' to do!
