    'look freya i'm not really in the mood for conversation. i was in the middle of something.'

    i looked down and noticed my hands and now the phone were covered in paint. i flopped onto the bed, wishing my sister would get the hint, apologise for disturbing her already disturbed sister and say bye bye. fat chance, freya was a talker. but hey you never know.

    i didn't even notice hamish enter the room,until he took the phone from my hand. he mouthed the wordwho. i told him it was freya.

    'oh hey freya.hamish here. listen anna is with me so you don't have to worry and we were kind of in the middle of something, so we're gonna go now and anna'll talk to you later okay, bye then.'

    with that hamish hung up the phone and placed it on the bed.

    'see anna you just got to know how to handle people.'

    hamish smiled that lopsided grin of his, mock bowed before me and left the room. i assume to get me that wine. i decided that a trip to bathroom to compose myself would be in order before dealing with hamish.

    I guess I took longer then I thought I did, because when I came back Hamish was sitting On the couch with the lights dimmed, wine and popcorn on the table and a DVD ready to play.

    i reached down to pick up the glass of wine off the coffee table. hamish leant forward, his elbows resting on his knees. he wanted to tell me something i could see that much. i sat down next to him.

    i walked away towards my bedroom. hamish knew better than to play me like this. something was going on with davey and if hamish wouldn't tell me, then i'd just ask davey. i ignored him when he called my name. sitting on my bed i wondered whether it was worth the risk of being close to davey just for the sake of getting a straight answer. and was it even my business anymore? i finished the wine and placed the glass on the floor. i could feel myself slipping. closing my eyes i laid back and tried to think of how to complete the painting i was working on.

    When I woke up it was almost two hours later. I was annoyed that Hamish didn’t wake me. I waked into the living room to see if he was still there. He was and he was sleeping as well. Half of Hamish was on the couch and the other half lay on the ground. I thought that if I wanted some peace and quiet I better let him sleep.
