    Yeah... that the man responsible for some of the most affecting, intricate and at times absolutely mind-blowing rock music of the 90s to stoop to lowest common denominator r'n'b donkey-shite is damn near unthinkable.

    I'm more interested in what Matt thinks... He's made three Pearl Jam albums, a handful of WWC albums, worked with QOTSA and now brought out a jazz album since Soundgarden split. Cornell's made a great solo album, a not-so-great solo album, some fairly predictable (though still pretty good) music with Audioslave, and now he's whored himself out for some chart exposure.
    Even Ben Shepherd, the accepted asshole of the group, managed to make some great music with Mark Lanegan.

    :D Very true. We should start a pool on how many months, and failed singles, it'll take for Cornell to come out and pull a Billy Corgan, and say this was a huge mistake and he wants his band back. :p

    i never thought id be more disgusted by chris than billy... atleast zwan was still good... and even his solo album was tolerable... oh chris... THE HORROR! THE HORROR!

    i have never felt more compelled to find an artist's contact information... he seriously needs to see what his FANS think of this move

    Don't worry Mike, if you go on his forum it's actually quite hilarious. I found myself crying from laughing so hard reading some of the posts. EVERYONE ON THERE HATES THE 3 SONGS. They are comparing Cornell's voice in on track to a screaming ape. someone else thinks the songs blow chunks, it's great.

    Even the people who loved the idea of Cornell working with timbaland loath it so far.

    Saw Cornell three times last year and loved the shows, getting to see all Chris eras with a great backing band, and been waiting for his announcement of more European dates.

    After reading this thread I don't even want to click on the links to hear this stuff :o :(

    Thanks dana_b, I knew that statement was made when he was with AS; I'm surprised I forgot cause I was also a member of Audiophiles. I used to think this board was too harsh on Cornell, but I will admit that there were FAR too many Cornell threads created at one time. It got quite ridiculous. All I can say now is that he deserves all the fan slack he's getting over what we've heard so far. The music is simply awful and mind boggling at the same time. Mind boggling in a very, very bad way.

    This is truly a case of wasted talent. No one can deny that Chris' voice has improved drastically over the last year. Hell, he even sounds great on the putrid "long gone." I saw him twice in 07 and he literally blew me away; hitting notes I never thought I'd hear him hit again, singing with such passion. People actually think these new songs will come off better live??? C'mon now be real. Watch out, watch out, watch out!!

    The lemonade he was selling definitely got sour during last 10 years or so.
    I guess all the secret ingredients were courtesy of Kim Thayil, Ben Shepherd and Matt Cameron.

    you owe it to yourself to make an informed decision before giving this guy any more money... and that includes live dates... we have to come together as a fan base and make an financial impact on chris so he can see what a douche hes being
