    It really is fuckin' awful.....

Is he short of money or something?
i would think the opposite to be true.....more money = less inhibitions. if he needed more money, he would create the same product that has a proven record to sell.

In this case though it seems more money = less quality control.....

Whats funny is, is that alot of people knock bands like Coldplay for 'selling out', but give me them over this generic souless wank anyday....

If he were short on money he would have kept Audioslave together.

Wow that was bad. It' really did nothing for me. I guess I should count myself lucky that when I went to try to listen to the other two songs they were already gone. But seriously I thought touring with LP was the worst he could do and now he puts this out. Oh well. To each his own I guess.

Remember him doing a song for this Mission Impossible-II soundtrack (Mission something). Seriously, a Tom Cruise movie Soundtrack?

His solo albums: what went on with his taste??? On every solo record it's him posing or making faces. Euphoria was him contemplating what he would do without his bandmates. Carry On was smiling to his baby. And now this ?!Ushering in a new Cornell era.

Since those initials set sail on their own it was just getting worse and worse. They have to be locked up in some sort of cage.

I think I can say, without hyperbole, that that song was the worst thing in the history of mankind.

    Worse than Hitler.
Worse than the Great Chicago Fire.
Worse, even, than the writing on "Three's Company."

Seriously, after listening to that, for the first time in my life, I'm jealous of Helen Keller.

    Awful, awful, awful.

But then who would write songs like Unemployable and Evacuation...

Euphoria Morning is one of my all time favs. All great songs on that one. If he did something even close to that I'd be happy.

I guess I'm just one of those people who don't get Cornell on his own. He's gotta be in a band environment.

I could say the same for Bruce Springsteen record covers.

    Based on what?

Branching out to do new things = fine, noticed how I didn't say anything about selling out.

Have you listened to the album? Cause its pretty dark and doen't have anything to do with him contemplating what to do with out his band. And supposedly the band Eleven did have alot to do with the album and writing.

He did NOT compare his new material to Dark Side of the Moon...Christ Jesus Almighty. It's sad, because you know he loves the new material, but when he checks out the response to it...it's gotta be disheartening. But it's only tough love. I wouldn't care so much if I didn't love Chris Cornell, from "Seasons" to obviously Soundgarden to the beautiful Euphoria Morning. And throw "Cochise" and "Doesn't Remind Me" in there too.

I'm not saying he shouldn't do what he wants as an artist, but I think he lost focus of what makes him great as a musician.

not that bad at all, better than most of the dirge on Carry On. Is this a work in progress or the final whammy?

I used to love Soundgarden, since Superunknown I feel he's been in the comfort zone as far as the albums go.

If I never heard Chris Cornell give an interview again, it'd be too soon. He seems like a nice enough guy, but he sure does have an opinion of himself.
Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.

I was talking about the album cover, not the lyrical content. And yes I've listened to the album. Didn't care for it.
Now I'm more toleraте so I'm willing to give it a second listen plus a lot of people on the Pit seem to like it.

Well he certainly sounds excited about it. I'm still going to hold off complete judgement of it, there's a chance there could be some decent stuff on there, but this far it really doesn't sound a whole lot different to any of Timbaland's other records.

Pretty sure dark side of the moon atleast had guitars in it unlike the shit I've heard so far from cornell.

The song in its sucky entirety is here:

    http://www.ryanseacrest.com/leads/?LeadID=22

I really do not like it, I feel like vomiting. But I do agree that Cornell's voice is in fine shape........sooooo why waste it on SHIT like this?!

    How the mighty do fall......
#1: I do not listen to radio stations that play this kind of music.

#2: Hyping a tune via Ryan Seacrest channels is....telling.

#3: I'm really a fan of Cornell. The man is legend.

#4: The outro at 5 minutes was a ray of hope.

#5: I do not listen to radio stations that play this kind of music.

#6: Is he on drugs again?

#7: I'm really a fan of Cornell. The man is legend.

#8: I'm sure there will be the obligatory Cornell Koolaide drinker who'll swoop in here and defend this song to it's death (which won't be far off, hopefully) as Cornell growing and expanding and there's nothing wrong with artists changing but you'd serve yourselves and Cornell much better if you were honest.

#9: (fill in the blank as you see fit because that was just not good :()
