Baby
I used to watch your flowers grow
Now it's rainin'
And all your petals turn to stone
I been prayin'
I turn around and see my rose
But you've faded
You let me down, now it's time to go
You're like diamonds and I'm like glass
Like oil and water we always clash
Sometimes my confessions are hard for me
I tell you now I'm setting you free
That's why I'm long gone, long gone
You need to let me fly alone
It's just annoying because I can really hear in my head how good this would sound if it was a stripped down acoustic song. As far as know he's still touring with his band from the previous tours, so presumably all the new songs are going to have more traditional arrangements live.
Katowice 2007
London 2007
Exactly. I think they would have been far better taking elements of Timbaland's electronic style and blending it with the traditional rock set up, now that could sound good. It will be interesting to see how this stuff sounds live slotted in with his other songs.....

I really do not like it, I feel like vomiting. But I do agree that Cornell's voice is in fine shape........sooooo why waste it on SHIT like this?!
How the mighty do fall......
shows:
7/18/06 SF
Bridge School night 2 2006
12/9/06 Hawaii
E.V. solo show in Santa Cruz
LOL!
(Honestly though...what the heck happened to his ears? Living out of the country couldn't have done THAT much damage could it?!
Then again... i've always been a Cornell junkie and have liked everything he's ever done.
But interested to listen to the entire album.
I'm so high I hold just one breath here within my chest,
Just like innocence."
I'm sorry for posting this......

He can sound SO good with good music behind him and SO awful with lousy backgrounds. Who's helping him decide what style to go for? It makes it seem like he himself CAN'T tell what's good and what's not! :(
OMG....wtf!
What a nightmare this is!
Fyodor Dostoyevsky
For one, he seems to be trying far too hard to push new ground. He's so scared of repeating himself, he's willing to try anything new. Unfortunately, that leads me onto my second theory, which is this "independent, without a band" kick he's on, where he doesn't need to compromise for anyone. Which basically means he's probably not going to listen if someone tells him Ground Zero is shit.
Or maybe Susan Silver got all his guitars when they separated - who knows?
There's a constant ringing in my ears
Sense of humor's void and numb
And I'm bored to tears.......
at least we'll always have superunknown, dotu, and euphoria morning
Some die just to live.

But these two other songs are just awful... no redeeming factors to them at all.
