Qball wrote:Ewww that virgina beach poster is the worst. But a great frame job! Also why did you use a green mat for the coucil bluffs? I love that poster but I dont think it goes well with the green mat I would have just had a white mat for that one! But then again opinions are like assholes.....
I love that Virginia Beach poster......Cheers,

In fact, I don't really like white mattes unless white is a secondary poster colour. White mattes on predominantly white posters can be a very boring look ...0 -
Qball wrote:I totally agree with you on the boring aspect but with that poster having such bright colors I would've definitely used white or maybe that light blue on her forehead!
It sure looks like it is double matted to me!!Cheers,

I have to agree that sometimes the white matte is not the best choice. I remember the Hamilton poster

not the best choice for sure......but even with the black matte it`s not perfect to me

Remember the Kitchener poster with the green matte.......that is way to much green for me!0 -

I hate black and white mats. But sometimes it looks the best! My NW school has a black mat and it looks amazing! I was going to do the yellow but the lemon lime effect didnt go well with the room!0 -

Yep, it has to fit with the room to! The NW with white matte and silver frame looks pretty nice to me.....you should post yours with the black one......I have to frame mine soon!0 -
BeerBaron wrote:Those links don't work, but I know exactly which pictures you are talking about. I am going to get my Hailton and Kitchener posters framed soon and those posters are VERY difficult to do a good framing job on (London too).
Kitchener - the green is too much, the white is way too much. Perhaps you could try to match the red colour in the boxers. But even that I'm not so sure about.
Hamilton - definitely no white or red mattes. Yellow is the only colour you could use but it does look better as the second matte colour. That really only leaves black as the main matte colour.
One guy posted is London poster and it looked amazing! Black matte with a thin red line! I think the link is still there...and working!0 -
