Yeah, I looked at it again and it does look very orangish. My inner matte is more of a beige/yellow colour. I hope it looks good when it's done. It is so hard to tell when you are basing it on a little corner piece of of a sample matte at the store :)

Got any more framed Canadian tour posters?

Just my Kithcener one... it was done poorly though. I really regret that one. It's not really worth showing. I think I might redo it though.
  • I got my poster from Mexico City show framed and it looked so damn nice, but just before Christmas the most strange and bizarre thing happend, i came from a party and when i entered my room i saw it on the floor, pieces of glass everywhere, the frame completely destroyed and (luckly) the poster was a little bit damaged.

The thing is that the nail, in wich it was hanging, was still on the wall...i wonder how the fuck did it fall?

That's such a shame! I had a frame fall off of my wall once, but it was only my own artwork in it, and amazingly it was not damaged.
Just a thought, did you check to see the hooks on the back of the frame? Maybe they broke, or if it was a wire, maybe it was that? If you got it done professionally, I'd definitely go to the framer and see if they're willing to re-frame it for free if it's their fault. If it was a store-bought frame, do the same thing. Tell them it was a defective product and demand an even exchange.
    Hope that helps! :)

The next time your gonna hang it on your wall ask a carpenter to help you.

But your so damn lucky that the only things that broken is the frame and that it not damage your poster.

love the different colored mattes that don't seemingly go with the majority color of the poster. i.e. Toronto.

It still doesn`t work for me....I can't wait to see them!
  • Nice job! They all look great!

Really? Even if you go back to my original post and click on the links? It is working for me ...

Edit: Looks like you can see them now ... that's good :)

Now it works, I had to delete the temp. files in my computer!

Nice. I like what you did with Buffalo '03. As I was putting mine together I noticed it looked great with just a black matte. Here's the three I finished recently:

I like the Buffalo one. I just got Uniondale and was trying to figure out how to frame it.

I like your Toronto. I have been wondering what to do with that one.

Kitchener seems like a lost cause as far as mattes go ... I am taking mine in this weekend to get it framed (and London) and I have no clue what to do with it.

I've seen some people do green mattes for Kitchener, but it doesn't seem to add much to the poster. There's already such a contrast between the red/green/white in that one, it's tough to find any color that works.

For London I'm doing three mattes: black/white/red. Looks good on the computer, hope it turns out good.

Has anybody framed a Halifax? I was thinking of possibly a brown matte but wasn't sure.

    Why brown?

Out of the 3 colours in that psoter I'd say that the pink and green colours would only look good on the inner matte. Perhaps the maroon colour would look good as a main matte if you could match it but I'm not sure - I'd have too see it first.

I was thinking brown only because it wasn't one of the main colors and thought it might give a good contrast on the rest of the poster, especially since the other colors are so bright and bubblegum looking. I was worried that if I didn't go with brown or pink, the other colors maroon and turqoise (i guess) wouldn't match very well. I was actually surprised by how bright the poster actually is once I got it from the mystery sale.

I also thought that the color seemed a lot more brown than maroon so it might be easier to match. I searched the thread and noone has a pic of their halifax up so if anyone has it, i would like to see it.

    Great idea for a post.

I am in the middle of redecorating my office, and took some posters in to have them framed. I will add the rest when I get them (it will be an ongoing process for a while--about 30 more posters to go).

The postcards are from AmesBros (not the signed/# special edition). The piece is HUGE. I tried to post some shots of a regular-sized poster beside it and the sealed BennyLP to add some scale.

The QOTSA poster is pretty big as well. It is one of my favorite all
    time concert posters.

The Time/Rolling Stone covers came from barewalls.com. I chose the bulls because my career is in finance.

It is a work in progress, but eventually I'll get them all framed.

I am new to collecting posters but i recalled I had bought a poster in 1998 and taped it up in my husband's classroom. I had also taped a verse on it. DUMB DUMB DUMB. Needless to say, after searching for it, I am bringing it home asap and framing it if it is not completely wrecked!:

I gave the same poster to my sister for Christmas one year. She gave it to me for safe keeping when she moved off to college. Just yesterday I found it rolled up in a tube. It is in decent shape, she used that "yellow stuff" on the back to hang it on her wall (no tacks-thank goodness). I am taking it to my framing guy to see what he can do with it. Maybe he can work a miracle.

I plan on eventually framing my posters, but until then, is it safe to just store them in the tubes that 10C sends them in? If not, what is a reasonable way to store them to keep them in the best possible shape? Thanks.

Just curious about the pattern on that one. Was there a reason for that particular layout?

Ok, at the advice of people in other threads I decided to go ahead and order an acid free storage box for my posters until I can get them framed. Hopefully my Texas from 2003 that has been in the tube since I got it will still be fine.

For a newbie(and by that I mean I have NO IDEA what I am doing) to framing, does anybody have any advice on how I can get a Pink Borgata framed? Not only what to use to keep it in the best quality, but what colors ect. to use to make it look as nice as possible? And an estimate on how much it might cost? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Hahahahaha, the thing is that i'm sure it was completely my fault, nest time i'll hang it closer to the floor -LOL- now i'll have to go and frame it again, wich -fortunately- is not really expensive here.
