Just curious about the pattern on that one. Was there a reason for that particular layout?
I just took the postcards to the guy that does my framing. He had no idea who Pearl Jam is. He just knows that I am a huge fan, and he's very intrigued by the artwork that is generated by their concert posters.
I told him to do whatever, to use his own creativity. I'm sure he had some sort of method and order, but it didn't come from me.

Ah, I see. My mathematical/artistic mind would go crazy staring at something not set in grid formation, that was why I asked. I immediately counted 35 cards, and thought "7 rows of 5!!" I just have a total obsession with order and organization (though to look at the mess in my house, you might not believe it!). I guess it's just when it comes to art, and specifically my own art.
I like the yellow matte on your Toronto poster. I never thought of using yellow.

That's exactly what I'm thinking...7 rows of 5. I'm going to float them between 2 sheets of glass, no matte.
Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.
Alright girls and boys...I have just come across some $$ so I want to frame a poster...but I can't freaking decide which one!!! I have the gorge done with a blue mat and black frame...and suggestions on which to do next?

Have you posted pictures of your framed posters? I love seeing what other people have done, while I'm still trying to figure out how to frame mine (Gorge is next). How did the Missoula poster turn out? Did your brother like it? I'd love to see that as well!
To answer your original question, I agree with Santa Barbara for next (I can't actually find your collection on expressobeans, but SB is a cool poster).
no time to be void or save up on life
you've got to spend it all.

Missoula was kind of a disaster...I got the frame from AmericanFrame, and the glass broke when I was trying to put it together...and it was just a mess. SO he has the poster, the mat the frame, just no glass. SO hopefully he'll put it together soon. I was very dissapointed because I was thrilled to give it to him... and it just didn't work out too well.

Oh, sorry to hear that - it was such a great idea. Oh well, a new peice of glass (or maybe plexi for the disaster-prone ) shouldn't be too hard to replace.

No it'll all work out...he's just a broke college boy though, so he'll have to squeeze the funds for a piece of glass inbetween beer and pot. WE'll see, I've done my part
I have a Pearl Jam 1998 Los Angeles Ames poster with some horrible creases. It looks awful compared to the rest of my collection. I have just recently started framing my posters, and don't really know what to do with one in this kind of shape.
I took it to my framer, to see what magic they could work on it. They said the only way to make it "crease-less" was to dry mount it.
I would just like to see what the overall opinion about this is. Frame it with the creases, dry mount it, or do something else.
If I'm getting a poster framed, do I have to measure it at home, or can I go to the store where I am getting it done and they will do all the measurements for me?

You may have to bite the bullet and dry mount it. I am no expert though.
I think you're right. Given the condition of that poster, it's not as though the dry-mounting is going to detract from the value.
Not something I'd normally recommend, but there's little resale value here anyway. Dry mounted at least you'd have it to enjoy, if that can get rid of the creases.

Sorry for the delay in answering - damn holidays and mystery posters. That House of Blues poster was snagged by me at the show. It is a test print from the show- sick huh?? Someone was trying to claim that there are like 20 to 25 of these in circulation. Does anyone have one of these that can prove it? I would like to see if there is even one person that can claim to own this poster. Let's see. That was just the start of my most unbelievable night. Still feels like yesterday.

I'm with the consensus. It's definitely not in any sort of resale condition as is, so dry mounting won't detract more value than the wrinkles have. I just hope your framer does it right
Holy shit.... I went to Hobby Lobby to get my pink Borgata done, but it was WAY more than I expected it to be.
Black metal frame
2 Acid Free mattes
UV Clear Glass
Acid Free mounting
Total: $199.47, not including tax
I decided to take it home, and I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it now. I might try a local frame shop, but when I e-mailed them asking for a price estimate and that came to approximately $150 as well.

Go to http://www.framesbymail.com and order the frame there. I got mine done and it came to $66 shipped. This includes the frame, acid free foamcore backing, acid free matte, and plexi, custome cut to fit the poster. I was able to put it all together myself in less than 30 minutes and it looks amazing.
I had never framed anything myself and it was very easy. If I can do it, you can do it. This poster is huge, so I would be weary of anyone who will do it using glass rather than plexi. Glass that is this size is easily crackable, so beware.

Thanks, I'll check out the site. Is the plexi also UV protectice?
Is it much harder to frame it yourself when the poster has been in the tube rather than laying flat? I have nowhere to place the Borgata because of its size, so it'll have to remain in the tube till it is framed.

did you use a matte or how did you keep the print off the plexi glass?

Nice job! I have two questions: Is it dry mount? How much did it cost you?
No, it's not a dry mount. I did it myself through American Frame. All acid free mattes and backer, and UV-glass. Came to $90.

i'm sure it depends on the severity of them but generally... is there a way to smooth em out?
thanks
Not hard. If you get it framed by a pro they have machines they use to flatten the poster before they frame it.
Thanks. I tried a bunch of different combinations. It seemed any combination of yellow/brown/red worked with that poster.
