gwen stefani-gave young girls of the 90s someone to look up to in a postive way, till that crazy slut britney spears came along. gwen will always look hot to me

I'll agree there, she's got a great voice. I went to see Blink 182 in 2004 solely for their set, but they really sucked. No Doubt opened, and they put on quite a show.

I was just about to say that. Don't like the solo stuff but she's still my favorite female singer. The Goodness albums were amazing!

Have to add Joss Stone to the list. Don't care for the music so much but the girl can sing.

    Gemma is awesome.
Can't believe no-one's mentioned Tori Amos yet. Her songs can be a bit hit and miss, but her singing is always top notch. Crucify is a stone cold classic aswell.

I may get slammed for this, but Christina Aguilera has an amazing voice. I never thought I would like a 'pop' singer such as her, but her newest CD is really good.

Also, the girl who sings with Zero 7 for the song "In the Waiting Line".

I'll stand with you on this one. Sure, it's sugary sweet pop music, but she's got some pipes.

She has really evolved from her Genie in a Bottle days.

Christina is better looking and has a better voice, yet Britney gets all the media attentions for her lack of hair and parenting skills.

A freight train roars down the tracks and safely reaches its destination without incident. A freight train roars down the tracks hitting a school bus, two mini-vans and a tanker truck full of gasoline. It, of course, does not reach its destination. Which one gets the news truck???? :D

Since there were some comments recently slamming female singers, I thought I might stand up for teh sisters.

    Heather Nova, heartmelting
Alison Krause, look in the dictionary under elegant and entrancing
Ellen Foley, caused a lot of adolescent jeans to catch fire in teh day
Amy Lee, love her or hate hger, she can sing
JAnis Joplin, whiskey, cigarettes and howling good fun

who wants to name some more ???
I really hate most female singers (sorry girls)...especially those IDOL-singers...bwehh!

Although I really like Janis Joplin and maybe a 'few' others...
