I had no preconceptions.
Like most people I'm not 100% sure what to make of it, although I suspect the whole thing - the French fella - was a put-on by Banksy as a means of exposing the art-world for the bunch of money-obsessed, pretentious wankers that they are - not much diiferent from the fashion industry wankers.
Either way, even if the French fella - and the story as a whole - was genuine the film would still have the same effect/result.

well that makes sense doesnt it? banksy sitting there conjuring up this thing knowing there were people whod fall for it cause theyre basically being told. high art is just low art hung in a gilded frame. and who decides what art is anyway. i much prefer some of the street art i see to the mona lisa which to me is one of the most boring paintings ever created. but see its all subjective isnt it? and i love what banksy does. recently i was in melbourne and found in a laneway some of shepard faireys obey posters. now as much as id like them to be faireys work i dont know for sure he is responsible. in the end i decided it doesnt matter.

Saw Unknown the other night. It was pretty good, I'd recommend it.
Agreed. A little bit of Bourne mixed with a little bit of Taken = win!
Liam Neeson is a badass
And I definitely want to see Adjustment Bureau. There's a bunch of stuff on my radar for March right now, like Paul, the Adjustment Bureau, Battle For LA and Sucker Punch
Finally got to see True Grit and was pretty disappointed. Jeff Bridges was Crazy Heart part 2, he mumbled and grunted most of the time. The only memorable part of the film was Hailee Steinfeld who was excellent and she wasn't even mentioned on the posters over here. I thought the bit where she was bitten by the snake was hilarious as it looked like it was sucking her hand.
Next visit will be "Unknown" and I'll wait and see what people think of "The Adjustment Bureau".

Werner Herzog gains exclusive access to film inside the Chauvet caves of southern France, capturing the oldest known pictorial creations of humankind in their astonishing natural setting. He puts 3-D technology to a profound use, taking us back in time over 30,000 years.
Werner Herzog is a wizard at conjuring unforgettable visions, from the ship dragged over the mountain in Fitzcarraldo to the Antarctic landscape in Encounters at the End of the World. Now he brings us the earliest known visions of mankind: the Chauvet-Pont-d’Arc cave art of southern France, created more than thirty thousand years ago. By comparison, the famous cave art of Lascaux is roughly half as old. Since Chauvet’s discovery in 1994, access has been extremely restricted due to concerns that overexposure, even to human breath, could damage the priceless drawings. Only a small number of researchers have ever seen the art in person.
Herzog gained extraordinary permission to film the caves using lights that emit no heat. But Herzog being Herzog, this is no simple act of documentation. He initially resisted shooting in 3D, then embraced the process, and now it’s hard to imagine the film any other way. Just as Lascaux left Picasso in awe, the works at Chauvet are breathtaking in their artistry. The 3D format proves essential in communicating the contoured surfaces on which the charcoal figures are drawn. Beyond the walls, Herzog uses 3D to render the cave’s stalagmites like a crystal cathedral and to capture stunning aerial shots of the nearby Pont-d’Arc natural bridge. His probing questions for the cave specialists also plunge deep; for instance: “What constitutes humanness?”
In an essay titled “Why I Hate 3-D (And You Should Too),” the critic Roger Ebert wrote that he could only be reconciled to the format by a filmmaker like Herzog. Cave of Forgotten Dreams promises to both open and blow the minds of similar skeptics.
Cave of Forgotten Dreams was triggered by an article in The New Yorker by Judith Thurman, who tried to gain access to the Chauvet caves and finally wrote her piece based on photos and interviews. I recently joined Thurman at a screening for her first experience of Chauvet in 3D. Her response when the lights came up: “It’s a miracle.”

haha, i'm dying to see "Paul" also!
i was pleasantly surprised by Paul. i was not expecting much at all but it was actually pretty good. Seth's delivery of some of Paul's lines i think make the movie.
Saw two movies on Saturday. Went to an early showing of the Adjustment Bureau. It was good, I enjoyed t. One problem I had was during some scenes you can see the boom mic on the top of the screen. I know one guy who saw it in another theater had the same problem as well as the screen being out of line. NO one else that I know that saw it had that problem though. Matt Damon was good and so was Emily Blunt, pretty good plot and story.
Towards the end of the film I got a text from my one buddy saying they were gonna see Paul at another theater. So decided to see that afterwards. It was funny, some LOL moments. I like Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Seth Rogen was good as the alien. Also some other cameos which I wasn't aware of.

I also saw two movies yesterday, but older. I saw "The Money Pit" with Tom Hanks and Shelly Long. It was a good movie and really funny. "Two weeks." After that, I watched "Fargo", which I had been wanting to watch for a while. The Coen's are absolute genius's.

Watched 'The Kings Speech' yesterday. I wasn't expecting much from it, but I thought it was really good. A very nice story, and great acting.
I've recently watched that too and found it very good. Colin Firth's just superb, not speaking of Helena Bonham Carter (she was *just* like the Queen mother )!
Quite interesting to find out about personal facts of a king and how these could influence his way of life.
