Just watched Public Enemy with Johnny Depp on Sunday. Thought it was pretty decent. Never really knew much of John Dillinger, he was quite a guy, very ballsy. Made alot of cash in the day. The FBI really did everything in the power to catch this guy at any costs.

I saw The American w/ George Clooney last night. It was ok. I just couldn't get into it at all. Too slow moving.

I'd recommend One Week ... young man's road trip across Canada on an old Norton bike ... his internal journey is greater than the geographical journey.
It is very though provoking, bitter sweet,I was biting back the tears

and the scenery is stunning ... It's Canada ... why would it be anything less :D

    Machete was a huge disappointment

  • I went to see Sex and the City 2 at the beginning of the summer and after that I decided to stay away from summer movies. This seemed to be a very weak summer for movies.

Sex and the City 2 was ghastly. It felt like an eternity to watch that movie. And just when you think it couldn't get any worse they broke into a karaoke version of I am Woman. :wtf:

I saw it this weekend. I was kind of bummed that it was not as bloody and as I had hoped. It was fun, but not awesome fun.

Can't wait for "Hobo with a Shotgun" though. THAT looks like what I was hoping Machete was going to be.

I am excited to see "Hobo w/a Shotgun" too when it comes out.

Movies I'm looking forward to, or if they're already out, want to see:

    The Social Network (Oct. 1)
Black Swan - no idea when it opens
Harry Potter 7 - November sometime
Mao's Last Dancer - already out, but not where I live
The Girl Who Played with Fire - already out, but not here

I have Capote rented on my itunes but haven't gotten time to see it yet.
    R.i.p. Rigoberto Alpizar.
    R.i.p. My Dad - May 28, 2007
    R.i.p. Black Tail (cat) - Sept. 20, 2008

I liked Machete but my expectations were low. it seemed like it was thrown together very fast. It definately reminded me of the old blaxpositions like almost like it was a mexican version of this. Which I thought was a very cool.
some very funny moments and I enjoyed it although I was not blown away by it.

Going to be watching Robinhood today, the one with Russell Crowe. Is it as good as the trailers make it out to be? I like the whole Robinhood story, so kinda looking forward to it.

eh... if you got a cheapo movie theater near you that plays movies right before they come out on rental it'd be worth seeing and hearing it on the big screen

the scale of the movie is definitely something special

This is only the second movie where I walked out of the cinema half way through the film.

Actually, I left after about 45 minutes.

    Completely pointless Hollywood wank-fest.
