The thing I like most about time is that it's not real. It's all in the head. Sure, it's a useful trick to use if you want to meet someone at a specific place in the universe and have tea or coffee- but that's all it is- a trick. There is no such thing as the past. It exists only in the memory. There is no such thing as the future. It exists only in our imagination. If our watches were truly accurate, the only thing they would ever say is "Now". That's what time it is. It's "Now". - Damien Echols

Had to cancel my cable to save cash a few months back. Probably going to have to wait for the blu-ray release on season 2. Don't think pirating it will do it justice. Damn you student loans!
Enjoy people!

Nice start and way to catch up. Tyrion on his game as always. Very Happy to see Bran's "Dreams" made it into the season, so hopefully the wolves will play more of a role. Grey Wind has grown!
...got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...
tyrion's gf/wife is so fucking hot. such a dirty slut. do women like her exist in real life? the answer is yes.
oh and this was a great episode. i cant believe they're killing all of king Baratheon's possible bastard children, well theyre trying to kill them all.
Awesome premiere! Definitely left me waiting for more...AHH Is it next Sunday yet?

You'll have to remind us how accurate this season is. I read book 2 so long ago that I had a hard time remembering how accurate certain scenes were. I do NOT remember the baby-killing rampage from the book. I do not remember Cersei's confrontation with Baelish/Littlefinger.
Stannis looks nothing like I pictured him to.
Davos looks exactly like I pictured him to.
Craster looked NOTHING like I pictured him. He should be more greasy, more weasily, more slimy.
I hope they don't overdo Tyrion's character in this season. He's a great character no doubt, but I hope they stay true to the books' narrative balance. He's a main character, but still one voice among several.

I thought the first episode was good, but slow- I know its all about character and plot building in the beginning. Just like the 1st season, it took me to about episode 3 or 4 to really get into it. I feel it will be the same. Hopefully it will be more than 10 episodes.
If I remember correctly , the baby killing was mentioned by Tyrion to Cersei- but a bit later on in the book. And she did confront Baelish, but not so forward- I think.
I agree, Stannis and Craster was not how I pictured them to be- neither Davos. I thought Craster would be a lot older, skinny, nasty in spirit and appearance. And Stannis- much more colder and austere.
I don't know, maybe it would have been better to not have read the books first- I keep comparing the two- instead of enjoying the show.
i cant download it today...anyway il have to wait till tomorrow..
im not reading anything..
"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".

I am absolutely addicted to this show and book. In the past week I've watched the whole first season and am almost done reading the first book. I haven't loved and hated characters like this in a long long time. Everything about the show is so well done. It's going to be so hard waiting for each sunday night for the next couple months.
I'm not sure if I should keep reading all the books in the meantime or be surprised by what happens next by watching the show. Normally I would go ahead and read the books but the show is soooo god damn good!!! So far it seems to be a faithful adaptation.
I read the 2nd book a long time ago, I forgot about so much....but good start. All the intro for the new characters. Man I hate that guy north of the wall that has all the girls and marries his daughters. UUUggghhhh, whacky.
I can see being a bit confused if you didn't read the books, there are a lot of people to keep track of!
I think it's going to be a great season and things will move along in the next episode or so.
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!

I think Stannis and Davos were similar to how I pictured them. But Craster I did think would be older and slimy. But in a way, it is almost worse that he is sort of normal looking.
I don't think they will overdo Tyrion, it would almost be hard to do that seeing how he is in the book I would think. And he is a huge part of this season.
I also liked a couple of the smaller things they did last night that could have been left out. The table in Stannis throne room, Melisandra's necklass glowing when she drank the poison, Danny's dragon not eating.
...got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...

I agree with just about everything you said here. I can't remember a lot of details either...I find myself wishing it was season 3 already actually. The baby killing was really pushing the envelope, really makes you hate Slynt early on.
Stannis and Davos were different than I pictured, but I could deal with that. It was Craster that I had a major problem with. He definitely should have been more weasily and greasy as you put it!
I also agree wholeheartedly about Tyrion, yes he is amazing but everyone else is just as important. What I LOVED was seeing Grey Wind - wow that scene where he snaps at Jamie gave me the chills! Can't wait to get more into Bran's dreams.
