I just passed the 700 page mark of a storm of swords...

    holy f#ck!

I now understand why mamasan has been throwing the book at the wall repeatedly.

(slow going I know - I actually didn't have the time to pick up the book for a week and a 1/2... run ragged with work/spring time chores)
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

that was a crazy part of the story. That is why we need Season 3 for TV i assume they will end season three with that portion of the story that drives eveyrone crazy (assuming they split book three into two season

No no I'm pretty sure you've read the "crazy" part. The end of the book is more of a reveal which is wild but not "crazy"
The part that you throw the book agains the wall is the biggest holy shit of the series so far for me

I as well have HATED Theon from that very scene! You're really going to love the stories as they go on and the wolves get more involved with everyone.

:D You know me too well, Lady Mamasan23.

I am so happy to have all of this in front of me!!! (I'm only as far as the final episode of last season right now _ and on the audio book, up to the point where Danyerius is now pregnant.)

I'm savoring every single hour I get to listen.

And I am LOVING my House Stark Direwolf sigel t-shirt. I am planning to wear it to work on Friday. 8-)

Where did you find that shirt? I'd love to get one!

I was watching extras on the blu-ray the other day and some of the cast were saying that when Maisie - the girl that plays Arya - was doing just the read through of the scene where she throws the rock at Nymeria she was crying. That was insanely tough to watch, I just wanted to hug the pup!

Shirt is from the HBO website, but when I Googled GoT t-shirts, I found a lot of interesting versions.

Last night, right before bed, I watched the scene where Nymeria is driven off. And of course, when Lady was killed. That was so awful, I had nightmares all night about my dogs.

I love the scene when Tyrion Lannister keeps swatting Joffrey across the face. The little bastard. (J, not T.)

So I was going to put book 5 on hold while I finished SK's 11/22/63 book, but then yesterday a friend of mine popped by - he bought it for me and told me I could have it only on the condition that I start reading it immediately  He's dying to have someone to talk about it with, so I'm getting started on it tonight! Can't wait to get into that spoiler thread!

At least a sign of hope for book 6 that I read, the producers of the show said GRRM has not been as invovled as he has been busy with the 6th book. Then they went on to say they have all kinds of spoilers they wish they could share

If I remember correctly from book 2, Jamie's hardly in it at all. If the show follows the book, he'll have, what, all of 2 scenes? I'm wondering if they are going to create some just to get him more air time. It'll be interesting to see what they do!

I did read all of this thread so I apologies if this has already been discussed...

But this if for those who've read the books: Does Ned Stark come back at all? Like in dreams etc? I was shocked (jaw on the floor was he was killed) and I was hoping that we'd get to see him again in Season 2.
The thing I like most about time is that it's not real. It's all in the head. Sure, it's a useful trick to use if you want to meet someone at a specific place in the universe and have tea or coffee- but that's all it is- a trick. There is no such thing as the past. It exists only in the memory. There is no such thing as the future. It exists only in our imagination. If our watches were truly accurate, the only thing they would ever say is "Now". That's what time it is. It's "Now". - Damien Echols

Nope, Ned's tale in the story is done, I am very sorry to report. (Although I just finished book 4, so anything beyond that I'm not sure of.) I think that's a huge part of why I love GRRM, he will kill anyone off, doesn't matter how important they are. I think most writers are afraid of that, but something about it just makes the stories more real, which could be why there's been such a huge response to them.

I really hope that at some point he does a prequel and tells the tale of the Mad King, that would be an incredible read!
