This is very strange and I can't believe I hadn't noticed until now but Annie only had four toes on each of her hind feet.  How strange!

She was checking out one of my guitar cases earlier today:

  • Well the kitten and the cat have become very accustomed to each other. The kitten was a great thing to get for Mika- her days are better for sure. And the kitten has a great life- she's a joy... such a little spaz I laugh at her all day.

Here are the two at rest:

Kali is losing a lot of weight.  I took her in for her yearly check-up in April and the vet was concerned with her weight.  She was at 7 1/2 pounds when she weighed her.  I was pretty shocked cause I thought she was about 12 pounds or so.  She was always bigger than Willow.  You can see where her hips would be (back legs) are kinda caved in.  She eats, drinks and goes to the bathroom normally.  So i told her i would keep an eye on her weight.  She stayed the same for about a month or two.  Then within the past week I noticed it alot and decided to weigh her.  She was under 7 pounds now.  I made an appointment for her on Monday night.  Hoping it's not too bad and manageable.
    she has diabetes :disappointed:

Well the insulin seems to be working as is the diabetic cat food.  She's gained some weight back and is now just a little over 9 pounds.  So that's good

kinda worried about her now.  She usually eats a lot but the past few days she barely touches/eats her wet food though and just eats the dry food.  I'm guessing it has to do with the amount of insulin she's getting.  I just went to the vet last weekend though so not sure.  She doesn't go back for another month.  I did call the vet and asked if it was normal.  They said as long as she's actually eating i shouldn't be too worried (even if it's just the dry food).

Maybe she's just pulling the annoying 'I'm going to be a super finicky eater now' trick? My cat does that sometimes. I have no idea why, but nothing ever comes of it. I hope it's just something like that! :prayer:

Weird for sure, but like your vet said, if she's eating the dry, how bad could it be? I guess? It really could be that she just decided she doesn't like wet food anymore for some reason. My cat did the same, except in reverse. She will barely touch dry food anymore, even though that's what she was raised on exclusively. She only nibbles about 1/4 of a cup of it a week now (which makes her a way bigger pain in the ass, lol).

she's eating normally now.  Maybe she wasn't feeling too well.  Although the reason she may not have been eating a lot was possibly I took her to  the vet to have her glucose taken (but I think that was the week before?).  Oh well.  She's still the same weight, about 9 1/2-10 pounds.

It's true, I love that cat Annie.

But now we have this little problem.  She has peed on the bathroom rug that is close to her kitty litter box the last two nights.  What the...?  She used it to poop and has always peed there but all of the sudden- twice on the throw rug?  At least I can throw it in the washer... but do I want to have to start doing that on a regular basis.  No

    Exasperated!

is her litter box near a window?  maybe she saw something and marked her territory?

That usually meant a UTI for Molly, Brian. Maybe take her to the vet so that they can get a urine sample.
