Someone‘a being an affectionate kitty. She’s probably the best lap cat I’ve had 😀

Is this the Kitty that you were worried about when you 1st got it?
Looks like you 2 have worked things out. Hahaha
    Adorable
No i don't think this was the one I was talking about. SHe warmed up pretty quickly. It most likely was Kia who I was talking about. She unfortunately passed away a month ago though.

Do you go to the vet for "senior checks" for your older cats?

thanks. yeah she was having problems and I went away for the weekend. Came home and she was in bad shape. I think she had diabetes. Never had a chance to take her to the vet unfortunately (she was difficult to pick up and put in a carrier).

Just for yearly checkups unless they are showing signs of problems I do also.

I go for yearly checks for all my cats. Once they turn 10 or so I give them more extensive senior blood work. It is really important to check for signs of kidney disease and diabetes which are really common in older cats. My 17 year old cat that just passed was diagnosed with early kidney disease at 13. I put him on a special prescription food for that and it didn’t progress to anything really serious. So many cats die from it but mine died from something else. Had I not caught it early he may not have lived as long.

Now a couple of years later, this 15 year old cat has started to come and demand to be on my lap when I sit by the computer working.
She doesn't even walk over me usually, but jumps over a lap or a human body part in bed or in the sofa etc.

Kind of weird. And it's still only when I sit and work by the computer. Anytime else and she avoids being on me or anyone. She can lie next to. But never lie or walk on you.

Adorable. Congrats. Make sure to post lots of photos.

I am actually in the process of adopting a kitten. I have been approved for him. The only thing pending is that since he is really young he can't take his FIV/FeLV test until 11/27. If he tests negative, then I should be getting him on Dec. 2nd. Since I have another cat, I wouldn't be able to take him if his test was positive. I am anxiously awaiting since I already feel attached to him. The foster has been sending me lots of videos. The odds are in our favor though since it is only a small percentage that test positive. I will keep you all posted.

Daisy had her first experience on Amtrak today to my parent’s house. 3.5 hours. She was pretty good for most of the trip - meowed here and there. But by the last 45 minutes she really wanted out of the carrier. I let her pop her head out but she was getting very antsy. I think she remembers being here in September. Last time she hid for a while and didn’t eat much the first day. Today she ate immediately and jumped on the bed in my room and found a comfy spot. She had a rough day. Poor baby!!
