I just read something really interesting on a LOST board. I totally can't take any credit for this find but it's pretty symoblic, I believe. This screen cap was from LaFleur where Sawyer is walking up to Juilet's house and picks a flower.

You can't see who's playing and the board quickly goes out of focus, but where is the white King??

Not sure what that could mean. Either it's symbolic or someone is very sloppy at setting up a chess board.

But there have been other things like that--Locke playing backgammon, the black and white stones found with Adam and Eve.

Exactly. Black and white have played a significant role throughout the series. Locke made it a big deal when he was playing backgammon with Walt. Sort of a yin and yang type of thing....contrasts...faith vs. science.

And, I don't think it's any coincidence that it's the king that's missing.

Here's something I wish I could take credit for but I sorta got the idea from the Ack Attack. I'm wondering why Richard Alpert doesn't Walk Like an Egyptian. :P

This may be another "it's just me" things but the last few episodes that have featured Kate, she has really started to annoy me. She has just been so bitchy and awful to nearly everybody. I can understand getting irritated with Jack (WHO WOULDN'T???) but then she does a complete about face and apparently discards "her" child so she can run off with him (well, OK, she's probably running back to Sawyer).

She was terrible to Locke when he came to persuade her to go back. Couldn't she have just told him no without being cruel and insulting? At least Sayid was friendly when he turned Locke down. I thought she was kinda mean.

I used to be a Skater but I'm starting to think she and Jack deserve each other. They could build their own hut on the island and whine together every night.

I was under the impression Aaron was taken away...not that she "discarded" him. But, I agree, she was horrible to Locke.

Well, I said "discard" for lack of a better word. Whatever the case, she didn't seem all that broken up about him being gone considering how up until then everything she was doing was based on MY SON MY SON MY SON.

I disagree...she seemed really disraught to me...when he was laying on Jack's bed...she was a wreck.

ohh yeah... and wasn't LaFleur one of the dead bodies in the pit where Ben shot Locke??

I'm just curious as to if anyone found any screen caps or anything to verify this?
I was just watching over the clips and it seemed that they weren't any close enough to see the names.

I didn't mean that she wasn't upset about leaving Aaron behind. It just seemed less than what I'd expect when she'd been going crazy for the few days previous, packing up and leaving her home to protect him from whoever was trying to take him away. I felt like there was a huge chunk of the story missing, which is hardly unusual with Lost, but for some reason I was bothered by how she was behaving. It was like she was fairly calm by the next day when I would think she'd be crying and sad over losing her child.

I guess I'm just really confused over what's happened to Aaron and it seems like he needed to be on that flight with the rest of the O6 since the group has split up and ended up in different time periods.

Like I said earlier I think the jumpsuits just have people's first names and their jobs on them:

I also have a feeling that even if Sawyer is around when the purge happens (and I don't think he will be because that happens in 1992) I don't think he will be killed. I don't think he can be harmed, for whatever reason. When he and Juliet went to rescue Amy from the Hostiles, one of them took a shot at Sawyer. I'm not sure if Juliet shot him before he could shoot Sawyer or if he missed Sawyer or exactly what happened but I'm thinking that Sawyer has some special purpose that means that nothing can happen to him, at least not for a while.

Jeez see what I started.... It does seem like most people had their first name on their work uniforms but Sawyer had his last name (LaFleur). I have looked through screencaps from when Locke was shot in the pit (Season 3) and have not been able to see ANY names on jumpsuits... but for some reason the name LaFleur just seems familiar.

YEAH! It's all YOUR fault! :P ;)

When I looked for screencaps I only saw first names. I copied the picture of Opal above because hers was the easiest to read.

Maybe Sawyer had his last name on there because there was more than one "Jim" among the Dharmas. I don't think it would be because he was the head of security because Horace was the big boss and his jumpsuit says "Horace."

Or maybe Sawyer's says "LaFleur" because he's so special. :D

Like everything else in thsi show, I am sure it is going to come back around full circle in the next few episodes. It sucks that there is a break this week.
