Blanton clears waivers and is traded to the Dodgers. Actually think he'll be decent in that ballpark.
For a player to be named and cash. Were under the Luxury tax already, so i hope we get someone with upside.

Even if we get cash I'm alright with that. Roseberg is up; I'd rather see Cloyd pitch.

MLBTR has Cliff Lee claimed on waivers. But it's missing two more words and an elipsis: "...no shit."

Heard a radio ad for the Labor Day Festival this afternoon. Not one mention of Pearl Jam. Named a bunch of hip hop acts though.

Looks like we should be prepared for a bunch of turds in saggy jean shorts and wifebeaters at this thing.

Fuck all the Made In America hate. Pearl Jam at what I would imagine is going to be a sweet outdoor venue in front of the Art Museum steps on Labor Day weekend in Philly, FUCK AND YES. Jay Z Saturday night, boom...Pearl Jam Sunday night, boom.....Bruce Monday night....Boom.

Rooftop, festival, out and about in the city, rooftop, perhaps Bishops Collar or some other awesome bar in the city, festival, out and about in the city, tailgate all day, citizens bank park, sleep and recover all day Tuesday....Oh.Fuck.Yes!

I could give two shits about what the crowd is like, I'm going to have a fucking great time. And either way, the crowd won't be that bad when the Rick Ross crew is the most hardcore hip hop act there.

I saw the prices. I can't see myself paying that much for an abbreviated PJ set. If they come down in price I will reconsider, but I am leaning towards GA. Then lots and lots of beers

Yeah, I am definitely not as excited as you. I'm sure it will be cool, but my expectations for this thing are pretty low.

    Bishops Collar is awesome.

But what are the expectations? Hanging out on the parkway drinking beer and listening to Pearl Jam? Sounds pretty sweet to me

I guess my problem is that I'm comparing it to a PJ concert, which it's not.

    Congrats Cliffy!

I agree with Fixer on the low expectations for Made in America. Can only be pleasantly surprised, right?

I'm actually okay with that. I had figured this to be a non-PJ year for me anyway and I was sorta okay with that. I overdosed on them during the Spectrum run, saw great shows in Virginia and MSG 2 in 2010, and really enjoyed PJ20. But with no tour this year, it seemed that it would be a summer without PJ for me. But no big deal; Metallica's Orion Festival, Roger Waters, The Beach Boys, and Iron Maiden were my 2012 concert itinerary. Perfect for a PJ-less summer.

But then they announced this festival. If it was anywhere else in the world, I wouldn't have bothered. But right outside the Art Museum on Labor Day weekend? How could I possibly pass that up? It should be a great time.

But I can't stand Drake. I've never heard any of his songs (though I'd imagine they blow). But he made this statement that makes me want to rip my hair out of my head: http://youtu.be/AiFQ408daYc?t=11s). Fucking little poser douche. Respect your elders.

I had a similar run in 2009/2010. HIt cleveland and Newark instead of your virginia show, so I know what you mean regarding overdosing. There should be a rule that they have to play MSG every two years. Nothing compares to that place.

Your 2nd paragraph is spot on. Even though it's my favorite band on the Art Museum steps I'm actually more excited to see MMJ for the first time in a couple of weeks. Hopefully my apprehension about the festival setting will turn out to be unjustified.
