It helps when you exhausted the other team's bullpen the night before and you have Cliff Lee pitching for your team.
Was that a nice black cat I put on Homer Bailey?I do that shit on the Yankees thread all the time.

I actually picked the Yankees in our little office pool for the baseball playoffs... and won it. Worst money I ever won.
I was a "newbie to the forum" at the time.Spectrum 10/27/09; New Orleans JazzFest 5/1/10; Made in America 9/2/12; Phila, PA 10/21/13; Phila, PA 10/22/13; Baltimore Arena 10/27/13; Phila, PA 4/28/16; Phila, PA 4/29/16; Fenway Park 8/7/16; Fenway Park 9/2/18; Asbury Park 9/18/21; Camden 9/14/22; Las Vegas 5/16/24; Las Vegas 5/18/24; Phila, PA 9/7/24; Phila, PA 9/9/24; Baltimore Arena 9/12/24; Pittsburgh 5/16/25; Pittsburgh 5/18/25

muscle spasms.
phils abused some tired pitchers today. I still dont think the offense is good enough
Lee hooked them up today by going 8. They are winning some ugly games. Nice to win 3 of 4 from the reds though.0 -

Anyone else heading to pittsburgh next weekend? Guy's weekend for the Fixer. Will be at friday and saturday's games. Looking forward to hitting PNC Park again...it's been a while.

We did that last year. Complete takeover by Phillies fans. My wife's sister & boyfriend are going. Too bad Phils always play like shit in Pittsburgh.
I am going to the game on Monday at Our House in DC.Spectrum 10/27/09; New Orleans JazzFest 5/1/10; Made in America 9/2/12; Phila, PA 10/21/13; Phila, PA 10/22/13; Baltimore Arena 10/27/13; Phila, PA 4/28/16; Phila, PA 4/29/16; Fenway Park 8/7/16; Fenway Park 9/2/18; Asbury Park 9/18/21; Camden 9/14/22; Las Vegas 5/16/24; Las Vegas 5/18/24; Phila, PA 9/7/24; Phila, PA 9/9/24; Baltimore Arena 9/12/24; Pittsburgh 5/16/25; Pittsburgh 5/18/25

Nice about DC. I am going to hit the August series down there. Haven't been to that park yet.
Friday I think there are 12 of us going. Saturday there are 36 of us.
The phils do always play like shit out there. I really don't like visiting pittsburgh. Out of all the US cities I've visited, it is by far the worst hotel selection. And navigating that city is a royal pain in the ass. One wrong turn or missed exit and you're 20 minutes out of your way because of all the bridges/tunnels (and there's no public transit).
Used to have all of PA as part of my sales territory. I do not miss going to pittsburgh every month for work. Not at all0 -

Few good places on Carson St. Fathead's & Piper's Pub are good with nice beer selections. Gotta take a cab there; walking across those bridges is a deathwish (except the one to the stadium).
I can't remember what we did for 2 hours either. At least you can walk to the game.

yeah, I'm afraid of heights. did the walk over the bridge last time I was there. that ain't happening again.
the andy warhol museum doesn't appeal to me. that about eliminates the sights out there, so the bars it is0 -

i thought about doing a trip to Pittsburgh then realized, wait it's pittsburgh what the hell i am going to do in pittsburgh for the other 12 hours when the game isn't going on. so i totally understand that.
want an underrated town to go to? - louisville, kentucky. man what a ball that place is. Churchill Downs, Louisville BBall, Southern hospitality and a nice bar scene. have this section downtown that is all bars and restaurants (built by the same company that is building Philly Live at the Spectrum site) that you can walk back and forth with beers outside (street totally blocked off) and stuff. and they close at 4 freaking am. good stuff if you ever get a chance.0 -
pittsburgh sucks. but like any city it's what you make of it. anytime my friends and i go on road trips, we're at the bars most of the time anyway.
last time i was there was for pj and the stones. weekend was a blur. only a few details emerge: paying like 30 bucks to park in the heinz field parking lot (and this was '05 i think)...then pissing directly on heinz field...having a verbal altercation with an old dude behind me who didn't care for me standing during pj's set....pissing on some statue that apparently is a big deal in downtown pittsburgh...getting thrown out of whatever crappy bar we were in for helping myself to the tap due to their shitty service.
happy memorial day weekend to all.www.myspace.com0 -
I don't know if Carson St. is in the Southside, but that's about the only place I found decent to hang out at in Shittsburgh(see what I did there?).0

Yeah, me too. The downtown part is terrible. It's like Center City Philadelphia circa 1985.Spectrum 10/27/09; New Orleans JazzFest 5/1/10; Made in America 9/2/12; Phila, PA 10/21/13; Phila, PA 10/22/13; Baltimore Arena 10/27/13; Phila, PA 4/28/16; Phila, PA 4/29/16; Fenway Park 8/7/16; Fenway Park 9/2/18; Asbury Park 9/18/21; Camden 9/14/22; Las Vegas 5/16/24; Las Vegas 5/18/24; Phila, PA 9/7/24; Phila, PA 9/9/24; Baltimore Arena 9/12/24; Pittsburgh 5/16/25; Pittsburgh 5/18/25
