I just don't think a guy that played here for 5.5 years deserves this kind of recognition.

The team is playing too well, I need something to bitch about

I think you said it yourself, the team's history is weak. And besides, that '93 season was magical. It was so much fun to watch. And yet, it was painful to watch. There were so many come from behind wins, they were never out of a game. And some of them were down right ugly wins, but hell, it's a long season, they all can't be pretty.

i don't think i missed an inning of that '93 season. that team was so much fun. great memories.....they're putting the harry the k statue up on sunday too.

these alumni weekends are always pretty cool.

My friend and I used to go to the same bar every Sunday for the afternoon games and if we weren't there by 12:30, the staff started to get worried.

Yep, I couldn't have told you the year (as we've determined, I'm old ;) ) but I do remember it and I wanted Pittsbugh too. As a Phils fan, we don't like the Braves.

Or the Mets, or the Rockies, or the Yankees

I'm sure I could come up with a reason to hate all the other teams at one point in my Phillies loving life time :D

and to think, I was raised a Red Sox fan

I was raised a Red Sox fan

    sounds fraudulent.

i remember watching the series. after the Pirates jumped out to a big league in game 2 (8 run second). there was talk about pulling Tim Wakefield off the mound to bring him back for game 7 as Doug Drabeck was the scheduled starter and had already lost twice in the series.

    such is life.

I remember feeling sooo bad for the Pirates.

    I was born in Massachusetts.

I went to my first ever games when I seven - a weekend series at Fenway. My dad brought me and my two sisters for a special daughters only weekend (I have two brothers too).

I'm the only daughter that became a fan that weekend, my sister's don't obssess over it like I do.

Then a few years later, we moved to this area. Back then there was no cable, so you had to watch the local team.

and that's where my love for the Phillies began. I think it was that cute shortstop Larry Bowa that sealed the deal.

I was 10, what do you want?

and by the way, I'm only 48, if I'm old, so is PEARL JAM.

Haha, nice. I still have this tape in my closet. Best season highlight film produced by any team, in any sport, ever.

The inclusion of Hooters music is phenomenal.

I usually root for the Rox when they're not playing us. Can't believe how much they have sucked this year. That division was ripe for the taking for them.

I have never met a more nostalgic baseball fan than you. If the game could go back to how it was in 1917, The Jeagler would be a happy man.

It was cool that you actually had to finish in first place to make the playoffs. Otherwise I like the way baseball is now. But that was an unbelievable series. 1991 was too. 2 straight 7-game series.

Unlike the 2 straight 5-game beatdowns the Phils put on the Dodgers. :D:D:D

    And $25 million contracts ;)

These two arguments will go in circles forever.
